Knowingly Losing My Vested Interests

(Minghui.org) Moral standards are declining daily in today’s society, and it’s not unusual for people to tell lies or do the wrong thing for the sake of personal interest. Fake invoices, fake diplomas, fake goods, and so on are found everywhere. People feel they have every right to do whatever it takes to succeed.

Before I began practicing Falun Dafa, I was influenced by the corrupt environment and I was selfish. I criticized my husband of not asking for a receipt for reimbursement when he bought some school supplies for our children. I even took the purchase to the store and made up an invoice for 28 yuan for “office supplies,” so I would get reimbursed.

After practicing Falun Dafa, I understood that we should listen to Master and follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. However, I couldn’t help it—I was still tempted when it came to personal interest.

My Attachment to Loss and Gain Is Exposed

One day, I went to the hospital to pay for my son’s medication and noticed that my name was on the invoice instead of his, so I would get reimbursed. This is not unusual. But, I shouldn’t receive reimbursement for this invoice, given Dafa’s stipulation on truthfulness.

I hesitated, since 500 yuan is a lot of money for me. My family’s finances are very tight as we have two children with one in college, and the other in high school. Besides, we have a mortgage to pay. If I didn’t take the reimbursement, my husband might accuse me of being stupid. However, I would fail to meet Master’s requirements if I accepted it.

After I began practicing Dafa, I fully recovered from being a medicated, half-paralyzed person, and I am now free of illness.

I struggled about what I should do, but I didn’t dare tell my family. I couldn’t eat or sleep well and I couldn’t even achieve tranquility when I did the exercises or read the Fa. I wasn’t sure if I should accept the reimbursement.

It’s just as Master said, “... if it does not irritate you psychologically, it does not count or is useless and cannot make you improve.” ( Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)

After thinking it over, I decided to go ahead and get reimbursed. I told myself that it would never happen again.

The accountant at my workplace accepted the invoice for approval. However, cultivation is extremely serious. That night I dreamed I was grabbing feces with both hands and my body and house were covered in feces. I woke up because I was so disgusted that I was about to throw up.

My “Stick Warning”

I was shocked! Master saw everything I did! I was ashamed. I felt my face burning because I knew that I was in the wrong, and did it knowingly. I was determined to change. Suddenly I felt all my attachments to material interests were gone. I know that when I got rid of the attachment, then the substance itself had no effect on me.

I called the accountant and said that I would withdraw the reimbursement request. She told me it was already approved and she would bring me the cash the next day. I told her that I practice Falun Dafa and should not have asked for reimbursement for that fake invoice. I told her that it’s my son’s medical expense and not mine.

I told her about the seriousness of Dafa and she accepted it. I came to her office and tore up the invoice. She said, “You just tore up a few hundred dollars!” But I was very happy because I felt I tore up a dirty part of myself. I listened to Master’s words and knowingly lost my vested interests.

I thank Master’s stick warning in my dream. It’s my choice whether I ask for a falsified receipt for 28 yuan for office supplies or destroy a medical receipt for 560 yuan. However, the different choices represent different world views and different ideological realms. The former is the choice of a person who is completely lost and runs after material gain. The latter is the correct choice for an enlightened individual. I don’t regret making this choice. I have continued to make this kind of choice for more than 20 years. From now on, I am determined to cultivate diligently and assimilate to this great Dafa of the universe.

Six months passed, and I met the accountant again. She was very happy to see me and told me that she truly understands Falun Dafa and admires practitioners after watching me tear up the invoice and not asking for reimbursement for a fake invoice. Since then she tells people that Falun Dafa is good.

Once at a party, people were badmouthing Falun Dafa. She was angry and told them loudly that Falun Dafa is good and she herself would practice Dafa after she retires. Everyone was shocked. Then she told them my story about not asking for reimbursement for a fake invoice.

She told me that afterwards she recovered from the cervical spondylosis that tortured her for more than 10 years. It’s really amazing! I said, “Yes, whoever speaks up for Dafa or has a positive opinion of Dafa will be blessed.” She nodded repeatedly and said, “I believe it, I believe it.”

Clearly, it is very important for a person to understand the truth about Falun Dafa. Precious Chinese people! I hope you will find the truth soon after listening to my story. Always recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” This is your only hope.

Falun Dafa is the great Fa of the universe and the great Fa that saves all sentient beings. Atheism is a lie and a deception. Quitting the Chinese Communist Party as soon as possible will give people a bright future.
