(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 3 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Li from Pingdu District is detained in the Pudong Detention Center and will be tried online by the Huangdao District Court on the morning of February 2, 2024.
Ms. Yu Tinggui, 72, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with a 2-year probation in April 2022. She had to report to the local community office every month.
Ms. Yu was arrested on September 18, 2023 for talking about recent articles written by the founder of Falun Gong to Hong Guochun, who worked in the Justice Bureau. She has been held in Anyue County Detention Center since then.
Elderly Ms. Li Qiongying was harassed at home by several officers on January 3, 2024. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, truth-clarifying materials, five media players, and other items.
The next day, four officers returned and took Ms. Li to the police department. She was taken to get a medical exam and faces additional persecution. Her family spoke on her behalf, and she was released later that day.
