(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Dong Liping was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. Because she refused to sign the verdict, she lost the right to appeal.
Zhan Ruihua and Huang Liren (genders unknown) will face a hearing for the second time in the Aimin District Court at 2 p.m. on March 19, 2024.
Zhang Xu (gender unknown) has been homeless since 2000 when Zhang was informed that he/she would be tried in court. Zhang was seen on surveillance cameras when walking on Xingsheng Street, Tiexi District on March 8, 2024. Zhang was arrested and taken to the No. 1 Detention Center of Anshan City.
Six practitioners were harassed at their homes by officers from the Duozhuang Town Police Station on March 6 and 7, 2024. They are Feng Guiqin, Wu Zengjian, Qi Chengrong, Liu Changqing, Sheng Yihua, and Zheng Baojing. The police questioned and photographed them.
Ms. Zhou Ziyu was harassed at home by four persons from the Cujin Police Station and the Shunhe Community Office in Wuhou District on March 13, 2024. They photographed Ms. Zhou.
Mr. Cao Yang was tried in the Xinmin City Court on February 29, 2024. His wife was told to pay the 20,000-yuan fine before 2 p.m. that day. She was told that Mr. Cao’s verdict would be discussed that afternoon depending on whether she paid the fine in time.
When Mr. Cao was arrested at his rented house, the police confiscated two Falun Gong books and found a Solemn Statement in WeChat on his cell phone. These were regarded as “evidence of crimes.”
Ms. Liu Yanqiu and Ms. Yang Dongmei will be tried again at the Hanjiang Intermediate Court at 9 a.m. on March 20, 2024.
Ms. Tong Fengxian, over 80, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Xuanwu District Court. She was released in early March 2024.
