(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuyun Faces Indictment
2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Wang Yijing and His Wife Detained
3. [Jaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Deli Detained
4. [Changchu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Arrested
5. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Shufen and Ms. Wang Yulan Detained
6. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Sentenced
1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuyun Faces Indictment
Ms. Zhang Xiuyun, 82, lives in the Zhifu District. She was arrested by officers from the Nanshan Road Police Station in March or April 2023 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, keepsakes, and flyers were confiscated. She was released that night. Her case was recently submitted to the Zhifu District Procuratorate.
2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Wang Yijing and His Wife Detained
More than ten officers from the Zhongyun Police Station pried open the door of Wang Yijing and his wife’s home on March 7, 2024. They arrested the couple and the practitioners who were reading Falun Gong books there. The practitioners are Wang Ming’e, Song Yu’e, Liu Yufeng, Kuang Shuzhen, Liu Yumei, Sui Meicai, Kuang Xiuzhen, Wang Peifen, Xue Guifang, Xue Guiyan, and Yan (first name unknown).
The Wang Yijing couple is still being held in the Qingdao Supervision Center. Other practitioners were released on March 18.
3. [Jaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Deli Detained
Mr. Li Deli was deceived and went to the Jiulong Police Station on November 2, 2023. He is being held in the Jiaozhou Detention Center.
4. [Changchu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Arrested
Ms. Sun, 64, first name unknown, was arrested on March 15, 2024, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Jilin University No. 1 Hospital. Her home was ransacked. Her computer and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Her whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Shufen and Ms. Wang Yulan Detained
Ms. Zhu Shufen and Ms. Wang Yulan of Helong Town were arrested by officers from the Helong Town Police Station on March 5, 2024, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were detained for ten days. They were released.
6. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Sentenced
Many practitioners from the Wendeng District were arrested on July 21, 2022. Nine of them were tried illegally. Ms. Tian Lisha and Ms. Qu Aiping appealed. The Weihai City Intermediate Court affirmed their sentences on October 20, 2023.
Ms. Tian Lisha, 55, was sentenced to nine years in prison and was fined 50,000 yuan.
Ms. Liu Mingming, 37, was sentenced to eight months in prison and was fined 4,000 yuan.
Ms. Qu Aiping, 66, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and was fined 20,000 yuan.
Ms. Li Shuhong, 64, was sentenced to two years in prison and was fined 10,000 yuan.
Ms. Xu Changqing, 58, was sentenced to two years in prison and was fined 10,000 yuan.
Ms. Lian Qingling, 73, was sentenced to one year and three months in prison and was fined 8,000 yuan.
Ms. Zhang Yingming, 68, was sentenced to one year and three months in prison and was fined 8,000 yuan.
Ms. Cong Xu, 31, was sentenced to nine months in prison and was fined 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Jiang Changmin, 60, was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 3,000 yuan.
