Issues Offer Us Cultivation Opportunities

(Minghui.org) I’d like to share my thoughts after reading the article, “Practitioners in China, Please Do Not Participate in Overseas Phone Calling Projects.”

For a long time I didn’t understand why Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) discouraged large-area coordination or large-scale material production sites in China; and instead recommended small, grassroots material production. After all, we practitioners are here to help Master save people, so wouldn’t large-area coordination or large-scale material production be more effective? Things work out as long as people are saved. Plus, with practitioners outside of China doing well with their phone call projects, why can’t we inside China participate? It’s true that coordinators in China were persecuted one after another, as well as those who tried to organize practitioners to join the phone call projects or establish large-scale material production sites in China. But, that should not stop us. Right?

So, after the article, “Practitioners in China, Please Do Not Participate in Overseas Phone Calling Projects” was published, I paid little attention to it, thinking it had nothing to do with me. I did not participate in it; nor did I oppose it. I remained neutral.

But this mindset is incorrect. Master said,

“I often tell you about situations like this: When two people have a conflict both should look for the causes within themselves, asking, “What problem do I have here?” Each should search for his own problem. If a third person witnesses the conflict between the two, I would say that it’s not accidental for that third person to see it, and he too should think it over: “Why did I see their conflict? Is it because I still have some shortcomings?” Only in this way can it be good. Yet whenever you run into a conflict, you always push it off to others and find weaknesses and shortcomings in others. Your doing that is not right. You could cause Dafa work to suffer a setback, or cause Dafa itself a setback. You haven’t realized that you are using Dafa and Dafa work to excuse your own shortcomings or hide your own attachments. When you think that another person hasn’t done well, when you can’t get over it in your mind, you should think about it: “Why is my mind troubled by this? Does he really have a problem? Or is it that there’s something wrong inside me?” You should think about it carefully.” (Teachings at the Conference in the Western U.S.)

Master also said,

“...if you are truly able to search for causes within yourself in the face of conflicts and thus rectify yourself first, you have passed the test; if you are able to let go of your attachments amidst all kinds of tribulations, you have passed the test. Of course, there are different degrees of passing the test. Some students are able to handle everything well. Some students are able to handle them well on the surface but are not able to let go of them deep down within. Some appear to be quite good but still feel a bit uneasy inside. That means that they have kept a little bit of those [attachments].” (Teachings at the Conference in Australia)

While I read the Fa (teachings) today, I suddenly remembered what Master said. Why did Minghui highlight the texts in red to raise awareness about this project? It’s likely that a project like this can attract the attention of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), leading to mass arrests and prison sentences of the practitioners involved. This doesn’t only affect theeir cultivation, but also causes the police and officials in the justice system to commit more sins against Dafa.

The overseas phone calling projects are meant to augment the truth-clarification efforts in China because overseas practitioners cannot access Chinese people easily.

Master said,

“Many people do not understand the genuine meaning of what those high-level people have said, and neither do they understand the realm or mindset of those people at high levels and in lofty realms.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)

My thought is, the coordinators who initiated the overseas phone call projects to China did not understand why Master discouraged large-area coordination in China. There are no Falun Dafa Associations or general coordinators in China. Instead, grassroots materials production and truth-clarification makes everyone a coordinator. This is Master’s boundless compassion. I hope the general coordinators involved the overseas phone calling projects inside China stop; otherwise, their cultivation path might be ruined.

These are my personal opinions. Please kindly point out anything inconsistent with Dafa’s teachings.
