(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Qin Shuhai was arrested and detained on January 18, 2024. His wife, Ms. Xu Chunying, who was not able to take care of herself, and was depressed by his arrest, passed away on February 13. He was not allowed to attend her funeral.
The Linghai City Procuratorate issued arrest warrants against Mr. Qin and Ms. Liu Yulan.
Mr. Liu Fu’an and his wife, Ms. Hao Ping, distributed calendars with Falun Gong messages printed on them in Xiajiadian Township, Songshan District on the afternoon of January 10, 2024. They were arrested by officers from the local police station. The police ransacked their home and seized Falun Gong books and other personal items.
They were arrested at home again by officers from the Xiajiandian Township Police Station on the morning of February 27, 2024. They are being held in the Songshan District Detention Center.
Ms. Lin Jiangmei lives in the Gaozhangzi Village, Kalaqin Town, Jianping County. She was harassed at home by the village’s brigade secretary Lin Hongwei and two officers from the Kalaqin Police Station. They ordered her to sign papers, saying that she would be removed from the blacklist if she did. She did not cooperate with them.
Ms. Lu Xiulin, 70, was arrested in the Dongsheng District on December 26, 2023. The police ransacked her daughter’s home. They forced her to copy a document they prepared and fingerprint it before they released her. She was given three months of house arrest.
Ms. Zhu Jingrong, 78, who lives in the Caijia area of the Beibei District, was arrested and detained in 2023 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was later released on bail because of high blood pressure. The case was submitted to the Jiangbei District Procuratorate.
A notification from the Beibei District Police Department was delivered to Ms. Zhu’s home. It stated that the time limit for charging her was extended 15 days, from February 2024 to March 8, 2024.
Mr. Xu Jingchao, 94, has been incarcerated in the Gongzhuling Prison for eight years and six months. He has lost his ability to walk.
Mr. Yu Hongfu, in his 80s, has been incarcerated in the Gongzhuling Prison for more than seven years.
Mr. Zhang Wengang, living in Jiuzhou Town, Guangyang District, was given 10 days detention which will end on March 8, 2024.
