My Insight into Studying the Fa

(Minghui.org) One day, I went to a fellow practitioner's house to memorize the Fa with her, and I brought along a copy of Hong Yin VI. Initially, I thought that most of the poems were about modern notions and behaviors, atheism, and evolution, so I wanted to pick a few to memorize.

But the person thought that the poems were all Master’s Fa and that we should memorize the poems one after another, rather than picking and choosing particular ones.

After we finished memorizing the poems, I pondered for some time about what the meaning of studying the Fa was. I also remembered an article I read on the Minghui website titled, “What a UK Practitioner Saw During a Shen Yun Performance.” I thought, “It is such a spectacular sight in another dimension when non-cultivators watch Shen Yun. What is it like in another dimension when practitioners study the Fa?”

I realized that by memorizing Hong Yin VI, isn't Master helping his disciples clean up their modern notions and behaviors, atheism, evolution, Party culture, and other deviated notions?

Even if I knew what Party culture was, can I remove it, along with modern notions and behaviors? I decided that it was impossible because it is the Fa that removes these bad things, and how can they be removed if I don’t learn the Fa?

Master has emphasized this before,

“I’ve told you to study the Fa a lot, to study the Fa, study the Fa, study the Fa…” (Fa Teaching Given at the 2004 Chicago Fa Conference)

Master said to “study the Fa” four times in succession. Just then, I realized that I had not fully understood the true meaning of studying the Fa.

Master also said:

“To put it more simply, as long as you read Dafa, you are changing; as long as you read Dafa, you are elevating.” (“Melt Into the Fa,” Essentials for Further Advancement)

Because I cannot see the changes in myself that are happening in other dimensions, and I have no perception of how I have changed, I am often not able to reach the proper state while studying Fa. Plus, the various notions I had hindered me from studying the Fa and gaining the Fa.

I have watched the Shen Yun show every year for many years, and I realized that my previous viewing of Shen Yun was a bit like a layman's state when I watched the show.

Because I gained new insight into studying the Fa, I found it very different when I watched Shen Yun this year. I understood that it was a presentation of traditional culture, and from the costumes to the movements and the storytelling, I saw the upright, noble, courageous, and faithful ancient beings and also realized the deviation and ugliness of modern notions that people have now. The divine had guided ancient people, but modern humans were following the devil. I was struck with a sense of sadness.

I also realized that history had given us many stories about the loyal, the wicked, the kind, and the evil, so that when people today watch Shen Yun, they can tell right from wrong, and can be saved.

Thank you, Master, and thank you, fellow practitioners for the articles you have written. I now have better insight into what it means to study the Fa, and I have a better understanding of Shen Yun.
