(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yajun Hospitalized During Detention

8. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guifen Arrested
9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Miying and Ms. Wu Junfang Detained

1. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yajun Hospitalized

Ms. Wang Yajun was sentenced to four years in prison on January 8, 2024 and was sent to the Xinglongshan Detention Center. Her health deteriorated and she had difficulty walking. The detention center called her family on March 21, 2024 and informed them that Ms. Wang was taken to the prison hospital.

2. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Liying Taken to Prison

Ms. Liu Liying was taken to the Changchun Women’s Prison in January 2024. Her family has not been notified to visit her.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested at Ms. Yang Shuyu’s home by officers from the Lijia Street Police Station in the Shahekou District on the morning of February 23, 2024. They are Mr. Wang Jian, Ms. Yang Shuyu, Ms. Zhang Yumei, Ms. Dong Yuechun, and a female practitioner in her 80s.

The elderly female practitioner was released that day. Ms. Zhang Yumei and Ms. Dong Yuechun, both in their 70s, were detained for 10 days. Mr. Wang Jian and Ms. Yang Shuyu are still held in the Dalian City Detention Center.

After Mr. Wang Jian was arrested, the police ransacked his home and confiscated many personal belongings. The police installed a tracking device on his car. It was recently learned that Mr. Wang Jian was persecuted and hospitalized.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Jiao Shuying Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Jiao Shuying, 62, was sentenced to two years in prison by the Haidian District Court. She is currently detained in the Haidian District Detention Center. She has appealed her innocence.

5. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Ying Arrested

Ms. Liu Ying was followed and monitored by police, and was arrested on the morning of March 19, 2024. The police ransacked her home at around 1 p.m. and confiscated her Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, computer, and other items.

6. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liang Zhuanmei Harassed

Ms. Liang Zhuanmei was harassed at her home by two officers including Geng Zhongping, head of the Domestic Security Division of Zuoyun County, at noon on March 17, 2024. The officers wore body cameras and took photos of Ms. Liang and her husband while they questioned them.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiang Missing

Ms. Xiang from Tazihu Sub-district of Jiang’an District, around 80, has been missing for two weeks, after she talked to people about Falun Gong. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guifen Arrested

Nine officers went to Ms. Zhang Guifen’s home on the morning of October 31, 2023 and ransacked it. They confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong lecture tapes, Falun Gong books, a computer, printer, and other items. Ms. Zhang was taken to the detention facility, but was denied admission. She returned home that afternoon.
