Mannheim, Germany: People Support Falun Gong During Activities to Commemorate April 25 Beijing Appeal

(Minghui.org) To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the peaceful April 25 Appeal in Beijing by 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners, practitioners from Germany’s Rhine-Neckar region held activities at the main shopping mall area across from Mannheim over the weekends of April 6 and 20, 2024.

Practitioners from the Rhine-Neckar region held activities including exercise demonstrations at the main shopping mall area across from Mannheim on April 6 and 20, 2024 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the peaceful Beijing Appeal.

Residents and tourists signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution in China.

Many people took the printed information distributed by practitioners, and many stopped and listened carefully as practitioners explained the facts about the persecution. They were shocked to find out about the Chinese Communist Party’s crime of forced organ harvesting from living prisoners of conscience, the majority of whom are Falun Gong practitioners. They signed the petition to express support for practitioners’ efforts to call for an end to the persecution. 

After learning that the practice is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, several residents expressed interest in attending upcoming free classes about Falun Gong in Mannheim.

Deniz Freiheit and Lokesh Weyandt are students who recently finished their high school graduation exams in Germany. Both are planning to attend university.

Deniz Freiheit signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Deniz told a practitioner: “I saw reports online on forced organ harvesting. I was in doubt until I met you today. Now, I realize that such a thing is indeed happening. This is so unfortunate. We decided to sign the petition to support you. I think this [petition] will bring about a lot of influence and be effective.”

Deniz added, “I think it’s wonderful that you tell people about this.”

Berlin Residents Support Falun Gong Practitioners in Protesting Against the Persecution

Patrick Grünthal, from Berlin and currently studying at Mannheim University, said, “When I first saw you, I thought that what you were doing is like Tai chi. Later on, a practitioner told me this cultivation practice is known as Falun Dafa.”

Patrick Grünthal said no one’s organs should be taken without consent.

Patrick said, “One’s organs are taken without consent in China for practicing Falun Dafa? Human life is so precious, how can one take the organs of others just like that? No one’s organs should be removed without consent.”

A man from Kenya who grew up in Germany told a practitioner, “Last year, I saw you at an information booth set up here. I know Falun Gong teaches one to be a good person. I love the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”

Mannheim Residents Hope to Learn Falun Gong

On the second weekend of activities, a Porsche suddenly stopped at the information booth. The driver, an older gentleman, rolled down the window and looked at the display boards.

A practitioner walked over to the car and gave the man a flyer and started talking to him. When offered to sign the petition, the man signed, then started to read the flier concerning the upcoming introductory Falun Gong classes.

Many passersby took free information about Falun Gong that day, and a number said they hoped to find out more about the practice and wanted to give it a try.
