(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from the cities of Stara Zagora, Yambol, and Burgas gathered on May 11, 2024, at the central Bogoridi Boulevard to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. They were also joined by practitioners from Russia in holding an informational event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Burgas is a city located in the southern part of the Black Sea coast, known for its beautiful scenery. Many citizens and visitors in Burgas walked along the pedestrian zone on a warm Saturday. Practitioners told them about Falun Dafa and the benefits they have received from the practice. They also handed out Dafa informational materials, set up banners, and put on performances to celebrate the day.

Practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises. Attracted by the calming music, people stopped to watch. Quite a few people asked where they could learn the exercises in Burgas. They were happy to find out where the location of the Dafa practice site was.
World Falun Dafa Day is a special day for Falun Dafa practitioners as it marks the anniversary when Master Li Hongzhi first began teaching the practice to the public. It was in 1992. It is also Master Li’s birthday. Many practitioners take this day as an opportunity to thank Master Li for the benefits they have received as a result of their practice. This naturally includes the practitioners of Bulgaria.

Ms. Kerachka Paraskova, a practitioner from Burgas, is the main organizer of the event and also is an assistant who teaches people the exercises in Burgas. She was dressed in a golden yellow drummer costume, which she had ordered specially for the holiday from a practitioner friend abroad.

For Ms. Paraskova, Falun Dafa was what helped her find her purpose. “For me, Falun Dafa is the most important issue I have come across in my life. This practice has changed my life, my health, and my mind. It happened that everything I have studied, worked and practiced in my whole life has been a preparation to be involved with Falun Dafa,” she said.
One of the performances that Falun Dafa practitioners put on for celebrations is the Chinese waist drum. After seeing a performance by other practitioners in Paris, Kerachka also wanted to learn and participate. Now, she is studying the dancing and the drumming from videos. Although it is difficult, she is trying to learn them to represent the strength and power of Falun Dafa in her homeland.
She continued, “I wish that as Master Li teaches me to remove my attachments, improve my moral character, and strive to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, so the powerful force of the sound of the drums may purify all spaces and my motherland,” she said.
“In my life before Falun Dafa, my logic and my heart were separated, and something was missing from them. I worked as a civil engineer using math, and in my spare time, I was a choreographer teaching children to dance. Now that I am involved in Dafa, my heart and logical mind have merged, becoming one,” said Kerachka.
On this special occasion, Kerachka expresses her gratitude to Master Li and her determination to continue striving forward in her cultivation.
“I hope to continue to the end, practicing with the heart I started with 15 years ago, and reach my true home.”
In addition to introducing passersby to the practice, the practitioners also informed them about the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese communist regime. The methods used against the practitioners are extremely brutal, and many practitioners are used as an organ bank for the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) forced organ harvesting operations.
The two petitions for which they collected signatures were related to this persecution: the first condemning the CCP for its track record of human rights abuses, and the second calling on the Bulgarian state to ensure that Bulgarian citizens and institutions do not participate in the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
Passersby read about the practitioners’ cause on the banners. Thus many signed both petitions.
Ivelina revealed that her daughter is getting ready to live in Asia. Ivelina wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa and the persecution of the practice in China so she could tell her daughter about it.
