(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chongqing] Ms. Duan Zaiying’s Case Submitted to the Court
Ms. Duan Zaiying, 75, from the Banan District was arrested in Jieshi Town when she talked to people about Falun Gong on December 20, 2023. She was released that evening, but her home was ransacked. She was taken away on December 28, 2024, and has been held in the Jieshi Town Detention Center ever since. Her case has now been submitted to the court.
2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Yanyun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Fu Yanyun from the Zhifu District was arrested on September 23, 2023, and been detained ever since. It was recently learned that Ms. Fu was sentenced to three years in prison and was transferred from the Fushan Detention Center to the Jinan Women’s Prison on April 9, 2024.
3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Qing Faces Trial
Mr. Lu Qing will be tried in the Nangou Detention Center by the Dongzhou Court at 1:30 p.m. on May 16, 2024.
4. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Fu and his wife from Chaoyang City went to visit their relatives in the Yuanbaoshan District in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, and were arrested on the morning of May 11, 2024. Their relatives, Mr. Lan Qingzhong and his wife Ms. Hu Xiuli, were also arrested. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liu Wenping and Zhang Jian from the Zhifu District were arrested on May 10, 2024.
Mr. Yi Yingsheng was arrested on May 11, 2024. His home was ransacked. Mr. Yi was released later that day.
Mr. Wang Junheng from Muping District was arrested around May 9, 2024.
6. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Sues the Education Committee
In 2023, the Pinggu District Education Committee suspended Mr. Liu Yaping’s salary and social security payments. Mr. Liu was also fired.
Mr. Liu brought a lawsuit against the Pinggu District Education Committee for the illegal dismissal, which was accepted and filed in the Pinggu District Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Committee on May 10, 2024.
7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hong Ying Arrested
Ms. Hong Ying was recently arrested at her home.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Yao, over 80, was arrested at her home in the Guihuayuan Residential Community by three or four plainclothes officers from the Rongguang Road Police Station on May 10, 2024. Her home was ransacked. She was released at 4 p.m.
Mr. Yao Jianguo and his wife from the Guihuayuan Residential Community were arrested at home at 9 a.m. on May 10, 2024. Their home was ransacked. His Falun Gong books and truth clarifying materials were confiscated.
9. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Qiongying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Qiongying, 78, from Chengjiang Town was arrested on May 7, 2024, and is still detained.
10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Zhongjie Arrested and Detained
Mr. Li Zhongjie was arrested on April 24, 2024, and detained for 15 days.
11. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xueya and Her Husband Mr. Zhao Chongan Persecuted
Ms. Zhang Xueya and her husband Mr. Zhao Chongan from Liquan County have been on the Qian County Police Department “Wanted” list since August 2022. The couple was arrested in the Yanta District, Xi’an City, on April 26, 2024. Mr. Zhao was taken to the Qian County Detention Center. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Qindu District Detention Center in Xianyang City on April 27, 2024.
12. [Tianjin] Ms. Wan Huimin and Ms. Qin Arrested
Officers from the Guajiasi Police Station and the Hexi District Police Department ransacked Ms. Wan Huimin’s home on May 10, 2024. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, truth clarifying materials, a computer, and other items. They arrested Ms. Wan, her daughter, and elderly practitioner Ms. Qin from the Hedong District. Ms. Wan’s daughter was soon released. Ms. Wan was released on bail pending trial at 9 p.m..
13. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. An Zhaoxu and His Wife Ms. Liu Meili Arrested and Detained
Mr. An Zhaoxu from Liu Village, Qingyuan County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, works in Beijing. When his wife Ms. Liu Meili went to see him, they were arrested by Dayu Street Police Station officers in the Mentougou District at 2 a.m. on April 25, 2024. Mr. An is being held in the Mentougou District Detention Center. Ms. Liu’s whereabouts are unknown.
