(Minghui.org) To honor the 25th World Falun Dafa Day and the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction, elected officials in New York State issued letters, proclamations, and citations. Congressman Patrick Ryan issued a Congressional Record to recognize World Falun Dafa Day. Mayor Torrance R. Harvey of the City of Newburgh issued a certificate of congratulations.

Congressional Record from Congressman Patrick Ryan

The record reads, “Falun Dafa Day was first observed by the general public in May of 1992, in Changchun, China. Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture based on refining the body and mind through special exercises and meditation. In the 26 years since, its teachings, based on the three main principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to improve their moral nature, have spread across the world.

“Across New York’s 18th Congressional District, local Falun Dafa practitioners have participated in countless events to share the beauty and benefits of the Falun Dafa practice. Each year in May, on the anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public, practitioners, friends, and family gather to celebrate with music, dance, and song. They share their personal accounts and welcome everyone to learn and take part in the celebration.

“I recognize and honor World Falun Dafa Day as we celebrate the introduction of the practice and its growth and protection throughout the Hudson Valley.”
