Melissa Lantsman, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, and Member of Parliament for Thornhill, wrote, “I am pleased to send my regards and best wishes to the Canadian Falun Dafa community as you celebrate the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance on Parliament Hill.
“For over 30 years, Falun Dafa has helped millions of lives filled with benevolence and forbearance. Falun Dafa is also a force for good in our community through its many volunteer an charitable initiatives.
“In addition to celebrating Falun Dafa, we also celebrate the values of religious freedom and liberty – values that are cornerstone of any democratic society. The communist dictatorship in Beijing continues to persecute Falun Dafa adherents and many others in Chinese society, clearly threatening global stability and human dignity.
“Hard as they may try, they will never conquer the spirit of Falun Dafa – they will never control the hearts and minds of people who want to be free.
“Just as you honor the values of Compassion and Tolerance in your own lives, we pray that others will also honor these values as we seek to build a fair, just, and equitable society.
“I pledge my full support, as I always have, in our fight together for human rights and a more secure world for Falun Dafa and persecuted groups around the world. I pledge to continue my work as one of your loudest, most strident voices for freedom and liberty on Parliament Hill.
“Thanking you once again for your advocacy, determination, and vision in everything you do. Looking forward to many more years of continued partnership and friendship.”

“These are not only the hallmarks of our two diverse belief systems but also the bedrock values of a truly free and democratic society.
“We also share the pain of our brothers and sisters who are relentlessly persecuted by China’s brutal communist regime. By holding and celebrating the truly Canadian values of religious freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of association and assembly, together, we can be a voice for those who have no voice, as we call and pray for change.”
Greetings from Ted Falk, MP for Provencher
