(Minghui.org) Three residents of Wuhan City, Hubei Province, were arrested on June 12, 2024, for raising awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong, a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Ms. Yang Donglian, 84, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. on June 12, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong near a furniture store. The arresting officers were from the Yangyuan Police Station, which later dispatched two other groups of officers and arrested Ms. Xiang Changqing, 75, and Ms. Dong Yaomei, 72, that evening. Ms. Xiang’s computer and printer were confiscated.
The police also targeted Ms. Xiang and Ms. Dong because they saw from their surveillance videos that the two women were with Ms. Yang near the furniture store. They kept Ms. Dong at the police station overnight and released her the next day. Ms. Yang and Ms. Xiang were taken to the Wuhan City Lockup, where they remain.
Ms. Yang credits Falun Gong for curing her stomach cancer and colon cancer. Ms. Xiang, who was once bedridden, also saw her health restored after taking up Falun Gong. Both of them felt compelled to tell people that Falun Gong was nothing like what’s depicted in the regime’s hate propaganda, only to be arrested and now facing prosecution.
