(Minghui.org) A Beijing farmer is facing a prison sentence for his faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Lu Lianyi, in his 60s, was arrested by officers from the Nandulehe Police Station on February 6, 2024, for distributing flyers about Falun Gong. His home was ransacked. He was detained at the Shunyi District Detention Center and released on bail in early March.
The police later submitted Mr. Lu’s case to the Pinggu District Procuratorate. He was summoned by the prosecutor at an unknown date. On June 3, 2024, Mr. Lu was taken to the Pinggu District Court and has been held in custody since. It’s not clear whether he was made to stand trial that day or if he was taken to the court for a deposition.
