(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 34 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Three practitioners from Kuiwen District, Zhang Jianping, Li Ximin and Li Shuyun, were tried by the Fangzi District Court on June 26, 2024. Three practitioners are currently detained in the Weifang City Lockup.
Ms. Liu Li from Xiafeidi Township is scheduled to stand trial in the Changtu County Court on July 9, 2024. She is currently detained in the Tieling City Women’s Detention Center.
The case against Mr. Zhou Rengang, 83, was submitted to the Xihu District Court in early April 2024. Mr. Zhou brought a lawsuit against the procurator Yang Liu and Hou Rui from the Xihu District Procuratorate for framing the evidence. Ignoring his complaint, the judge Wang Yi from the Xihu District Court recently informed Mr. Zhou that he would be tried in court on July 3, 2024.
Ms. Yan Yanfang was harassed at home by officers from the Mengzhuang Police Station on June 28, 2024. The police arrested her when she refused to cooperate with them. She is currently detained in the Xinxiang City Detention Center.
Ms. Dong Lihua was arrested at her workplace by three plainclothes officers from the Huachang Police Station at 8 a.m. on April 9, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books and two photos of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Dong was released on April 17, 2024, after 8 days of detention.
Mr. Liu Min, 57, was tried by the Yilan County Court on June 27, 2024. He is currently detained in Bin County First Detention Center.
Ms. Cui Deli was harassed at home by five officers including Ning Dexiang, head of the Domestic Security Division, on June 25, 2024. She refused to cooperate and was taken to the police department for interrogation. After she refused to sign the paper they prepared, the police signed it themselves. Her daughter was called in to take her mother home.
Ms. Liu Zihui and another male practitioner from Chengbei Sub-district were also harassed around the same time.
Mr. Yuan Junfeng and his wife Ms. Hou Lihua were arrested at their family-run shop on the morning of June 28, 2024. Their home and shop were both ransacked. The couple was released on bail around 9 p.m.
Liu Shimei from Honghe Town was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Yingqiu Town Police Station at 5 p.m. on May 26, 2024. Liu was detained for seven days.
Ms. Tian Lingqiao was recently arrested and detained for 3 days. She was released on June 29, 2024.
Ms. Wang Shuhua was arrested at home by several officers at 9 a.m. on June 24, 2024. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong book, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, some DVDs, and two desktop calendars bearing information about Falun Gong, and two media players. Another practitioner who happened to be visiting her was also arrested and taken to the Jiangbei Police Station. Ms. Wang refused to provide her password for police to check her laptop. The two practitioners were released later that day.
Ms. Tao Yonghong and Ms. Wang Ying were arrested by officers from the Guandu Police Station and from the Maonan District Police Department on December 13, 2023. They have been detained since. Their case was submitted to the Maonan District Court on April 12, 2024.
Ms. Li Zhenjin was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the residential building of the Fourth Forestry Committee and was arrested by officers from No.2 Forestry Police Station on the morning of June 19, 2024. She has been detained in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center since then.
A group arrest took place in Zhifu District on May 9 and 10, 2024. Nine of the practitioners have been released. They are Han (first name unknown), Lv Huichan, Yi Yingsheng, Wang Li, Wang Dianhua, Sun Xiucheng, Zhang Jian, Wang Zenggang, Zhao Lizhuan, Bai Mei, and Jingjing (last name unknown).
Three practitioners, Yang Xingrong, Li Zhenna, and Liu Wenping, are still detained in the Yantai City Detention Center.
Mr. Zhao Jun was tried in the Aimin District Court on April 12, 2024. He was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan on April 26, 2024. He appealed with the Mudanjiang City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold his original verdict on June 27, 2024, without holding a hearing.
