(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Xie Mingguang, 64, from Wuhan City, was arrested in Lichuan City on February 8, 2024. He has been held in Lichuan City Detention Center. A hearing of his case was scheduled by the Lichuan City Court on August 6, 2024. Details about the hearing aren’t clear.
Ms. Liu Shuhua and two other practitioners, Ms. Wang Wenqin and Ms. Chen Xuefen, were arrested on July 24, 2023. They were held in Weifang Detention Center. Minghui.org recently confirmed that Ms. Liu has been sentenced to three years in prison. The status of the other two practitioners isn’t clear.
Ms. Ding Shikun was arrested at home by officers from Henan Province, on July 26, 2024.
Mr. Qiao Chuanjie was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and arrested on July 18, 2024. He was detained in the Jianghan District Detention Center for 10 days and transferred to the Baishazhou Brainwashing Center on July 28 by Shipailing Community personnel.
Mr. Leng Xiaocheng was arrested April 11, 2024, by police officers from Ji’nan and Bengbu City, Anhui Province. He was detained in the Bengbu City Detention Center and his case was submitted to the Guzhen County Procuratorate on July 17. Bengbu oversees Guzhen Town. It’s not clear why the Anhui police were involved in his case.
The prosecutor returned his case to the police around July 23, citing insufficient evidence. The police have one month to resubmit his case.
Ms. Chen Yan was arrested on July 12, 2024, by officers with the Hexi Police Station in the Xihu District. Her home was ransacked and her television, computer, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. She is being held in Benxi City Detention Center.
Ms. Li Xiulan was arrested in June 2024 and has been held in Sanjiang City Detention Center ever since.
Ms. Yang Shixuan and Ms. Zeng Yuxian were arrested on July 24, 2024. Their current whereabouts aren’t clear.
After the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Liu Xiaoying, the mother of two, went to Beijing to appeal. Her family has never heard from her since.
Ms. Xu Cuiyun from Yutian County was released on bail on July 29, 2024.
Mr. Wang Xiaohong, in his 60s, from the Jiangxia District was arrested on June 11, 2024, by Jiangxia District Domestic Security Division officers. His Falun Gong books and 27,000 yuan in cash were confiscated. Only 7,000 yuan has been returned so far. Although he was released on bail the next day due to his high blood pressure (systolic pressure higher than 200 mmHg), the police took him back to the Jiangxia District People’s Hospital for another physical on July 16. His blood pressure remained very high and the police had to take him home.
