(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Yugen and His Wife Ms. Yang Guifang Repeatedly Harassed
7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Su Jingwen Detained
8. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Zhimin Harassed

1. [Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yang Qiaoli Faces Trial

Ms. Yang Qiaoli of the Yintai District was indicted by the Yintai District Procuratorate. The Yintai District Court has scheduled a hearing of her case for the morning of August 22, 2024.

2. [Zanhuang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Guozhen Faces Trial

Ms. Du Guozhen, a retired judge from Zanhuang County, has been detained for nearly four months. She was indicted by prosecutor Li Sujuan of Shijiazhuang City’s Qiaoxi District Procuratorate on August 1, 2024. Her case has been forwarded to the Qiaoxi District Court.

3. [Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province] Ms. Nan Yingfu Detained

Ms. Nan Yingfu, 66, of Korean ethnicity, was arrested by Henan Police Station officers at noon on August 14, 2024, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in a neighborhood. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in Yanji City’s Rujia Hotel.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Practitioners Liu and Tong, whose first names and gender are unknown, were arrested by Desheng Police Station officers on August 9, 2024, when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Beishan area. Liu has been released. Tong’s whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Suwen in Police Custody

Ms. Wei Suwen from the Xicheng District was arrested by Tiantan Police Station officers on the morning of August 15, 2024, in Tiantan Park. She is being held in the Tiantan Police Station.

6. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Yugen and His Wife Ms. Yang Guifang Repeatedly Harassed

Mr. Hu Yugen, 73, and his wife Ms. Yang Guifang have faced repeated harassment by the police and residential community agents after Mr. Hu was released in 2019 from serving a 3.5-year term for practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Yang developed a mental condition due to the distress from the harassment.

The couple moved into their children’s home in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, on July 1, 2024, to avoid further harassment. The police in Meishan located them and instructed their counterparts in Kunming to continue harassing the couple.

On July 11 2024, Meishan City’s Qinglong Town community agents and Kunming City’s Xishan District community agents harassed the couple at their children’s home in Kunming.

Between July 8 to 25, 2024, Xishan District Police Station officers and community agents harassed the couple and their children, either at home or by phone. The Xishan District Police Station officers also set up surveillance of Mr. Hu using facial recognition.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Su Jingwen Detained

Ms. Su Jingwen was arrested at home on July 22, 2024, by Yuelu District 610 Office agents, Yuelu District Police Department officers, and Wangcheng District’s Bairuopu Police Station officers. She is being held in the Changsha City Fourth Detention Center.

8. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Zhimin Harassed

Mr. Liu Zhimin was harassed at home by a community officer on the evening of July 25, 2024. The officer took photos of him against his will.
