(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Mr. Wang Zexing Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Zexing’s family was notified by the Qingyuan County Police Department on July 26, 2024, that Mr. Wang’s case has been submitted to the Wanghua District Procuratorate in Fushun City. Both of his parents are in their 80s and struggle with severe physical conditions. His detention left them in a dire situation.

2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Su Jingwen Arrested and Detained

Ms. Su Jingwen was arrested by officers from the Yuelu District Police Department on the evening of July 22, 2024. She was taken to the Changsha City Fourth Detention Center on the morning of July 24, 2024.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xiao Benying Arrested

Ms. Xiao Benying was arrested at home on the afternoon of July 25, 2024.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Han Shuying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Han Shuying from Wuqing District, 63, was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on July 18, 2024. She is currently detained in the Wuqing District Lockup.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Tang Juzhang Arrested

Ms. Tang Juzhang was arrested on July 7, 2024. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Puyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zeng Ling Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zeng Ling was recorded by a surveillance camera while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. When officers of the Renqiu Road Police Station went to her home to check on her, her 93-year-old mother, who was at home by herself, was deeply terrified. 

Ms. Zeng was summoned to the police station on July 22, 2024, and arrested on the spot. She was given 7 days in the Qingfeng County Lockup.

7. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ning Xiuzhen Harassed

Ms. Ning Xiuzhen from Shen County was arrested by officers from the Yanta Police Station in February 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was given 10 days of detention but the police soon released her due to her family’s efforts seeking justice for her. The Yanta Police Station call her family several time in June and July 2024, attempting to still enforcing her 10-day detention. 

8. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Wei Arrested and Detained

Mr. Li Wei from Weiguoyuan Residential Community was arrested and detained over 30 days. He has been released on bail.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guan Dejuan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Guan Dejuan was arrested by officers from the Chengxi Police Station on July 17, 2024. She was detained 5 days and has been released.

10. [Fenxi County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Cai Shuiyun Arrested

Ms. Cai Shuiyuan from Jingtan Village of Duizhu Town, was arrested by officers from the Duizhu Town Police Station on the afternoon of July 14, 2024. She was taken to a brainwashing center in Yuncheng City in the same province. Her current situation is unknown.

11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiao Linhui Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Jiao Linhui was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Longkou City Court on March 12, 2024. She was taken to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on June 13, 2024.

12. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun Arrested

Mr. Liao Zhijun was arrested on the morning of July 29, 2024. The police refused to reveal his detention location to his family.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guijie Arrested

Ms. Li Guijie, 63, was reported for posting stickers about Falun Gong on utility poles on July 24, 2024. Officers from the Guigu Street Police Station arrested her and raided her home. She was interrogated at the police station and taken to the hospital for a physical examination. Her husband was forced to pay for 550 yuan examination fee. The police made three attempts to force the Weizigou Lockup to admit her but failed due to her poor health. She was released on the evening of July 25, 2024. 

Ms. Li was arrested again at home by officers from the Guigu Street Police Station around 8 a.m. on July 27, 2024, and taken to an unknown place to receive injections. It’s not clear whether she was allowed to go home after that.

14. [Nanping City, Fujian Province] Mr. An Renrong Arrested

Mr. An Renrong was arrested at his home by officers from the Nan’an City Police Department on the evening of July 27, 2024. His cell phone was confiscated.

15. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Shuxia and Ms. Liu Qingyu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Qingyu was arrested by officers from the Qinghe District Police Department. She was detained for 15 days and released on July 27, 2024.

Ms. Zhang Shuxia was arrested on the same day as Ms. Liu. She is still in custody under criminal detention.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Cuiyun and Her Husband Mr. Zhang Delin Arrested

Ms. Xu Cuiyun and her husband Mr. Zhang Delin from Tangshan City were arrested at their son’s home in Tianjin by officers from the Zhangjiawo Town Police Station in Xiqing District of Tianjin on July 17, 2024. The police confiscated a Falun Gong book, a cell phone, and a media player. Mr. Zhang was released in the evening. Ms. Xu was taken to the Xiqing District Detention Center and has been detained there since then.

17. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Tried in Court

Mr. Du Jianxin and his wife Ms. Wang Fan from Dongying City, and Mr. Fu Jian from Shouguang City, were tried by the Dongying District Court on July 3, 2024. They are currently detained in the Binhai Detention Center and Dongying City Detention Center.
