(Minghui.org) The Minghui article, “Special Report: Our Master,” prompted me to think about the cultivation environment in Taiwan. Falun Dafa practitioners may read or study the Fa, but do not always cultivate themselves from the basis of the Fa.
The above article stated: “Having seen the heartfelt gifts the students have made and given to Master over time, which are on display at Dragon Springs, I couldn't help but think of those who, after leaving, have gone along with the Chinese Communist Party in defaming Falun Gong and Shen Yun. In response to my reflecting on this, Master explained that those young people didn’t come to Shen Yun on their own—they were brought by their parents—and that, in such cases, they usually don’t work out too well.”
Master told us:
“If you do not want to cultivate, no one can force you— that would be the same as doing a wrong deed. Who can force you to change your heart?” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
I understand that if you, as a parent, force your child to do something that you think is best for your child, that may be okay because of your love for the child. But when it comes to participating in Shen Yun to assist Master in rectifying the Fa, according to the Fa, you are doing something wrong. The work has to be done willingly. Of course, you can communicate or try persuade your child based on the Fa teachings.
A former Shen Yun dancer from Taiwan filed a lawsuit against Shen Yun and Fei Tien, and, in my opinion, this might be the result of karma accumulation from past wrong notions and actions.
Among Taiwanese practitioners, it is a great honor for their children to participate in Shen Yun. However, whether this sense of honor comes from the holiness cultivated in the Fa or the display of human pursuits remains a question. Some parents are influenced by the strong flattery and compliments displayed by Taiwanese practitioners, and do not think rationally from a Fa perspective as to whether their children are suitable for Shen Yun.
This is actually ruining the child’s life in this case. Some parents do not follow the Fa teachings and force their children to go to Shen Yun. Practitioners with notions that are not in keeping with the Fa may become involved in wrongdoings.
Master stated:
“The truth is, we shouldn’t expect to not face ordeals as a spiritual discipline just because we are in a certain location; it’s just that they assume different forms.” (The Ordeals Our Spiritual Discipline Faces)
I believe that this kind of human sentiment in Taiwan is what partly caused this Fa tribulation. This is my understanding at my level; please point out anything inappropriate.
Articles in which cultivators share their understandings typically reflect an individual's perception at a point in time based on their cultivation state, and they are offered in the spirit of enabling mutual elevation.
