(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Mei Jianfang and Ms. Li Yalan, from Gaoshidun Village and Erhaozhou Village in Caishan Town, were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and arrested at the end of December 2024. Ms. Li was released later that day. Ms. Mei is currently detained in the Huangmei County Lockup.
Ms. Wang Chengmei and Mr. Liu Yingjun were tried by the Ganjingzi District Court on January 9, 2025.
It was recently learned that Mr. Wu Bo was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Changtu County Court.
Mr. Du Bing was arrested by officers from the Huifeng Police Station in Wanbailin District on December 31, 2024. His home was ransacked.
Three practitioners, including Mr. Xie Hongbin, Ms. Wang Jingping, and Ms. Tao Lijie, were arrested by officers from the Chengxu Police Station on December 18, 2024. Their Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. They were detained for 15 days and released on January 3, 2025.
Mr. Cong Wei was sentenced to four and a half years by the Ganjingzi District Court. He appealed with the Dalian City Intermediate Court and the original term was upheld at the end of December 2024.
Ms. Liu Ying was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She appealed but the original sentence was upheld by the Suihua City Intermediate Court. She has been taken to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison.
Ms. Xiang Yan from Xiling District was arrested last year for distributing information materials about Falun Gong and was released on bail. Her family lost contact with her three weeks ago.
Ms. Liu Guifang from Xujiazhuang Village of Xinzhuang Town, Gangcheng District, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2022. She is still serving time at the Shandong Province Women’s Prison.
Ms. Pan Hong was arrested on December 29, 2024. She was released on the same day.
Ms. Li Ling, 71, was recently sentenced to one and a half years in prison. She was previously arrested in early 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was released on bail and harassed constantly after that.
