(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Four practitioners from Xingning City were tried in the Meixian District Court on November 12, 2024. They received their verdicts on December 20, 2024: Mr. Li Zhuozhong and his wife Ms. Liao Yuanqun were each sentenced to ten years and fined a total of 150,000 yuan; Mr. Xie Yujun and Ms. Liao Juanna were each sentenced to five years and fined 70,000 yuan.
Mr. Li Caihua from Changping District, 69, was arrested by officers from the Changping District Police Department in early November 2024. His home was ransacked.
Ms. Sun Lirong was arrested by local police officers at noon on December 19, 2024. She was taken to the Yi’an County Police Department and detained for five days. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Jia Guiqin from Hantai District was harassed at home by local community staff members on the afternoon of December 16, 2024. They warned her not to go out to talk to people about Falun Gong. They also harassed her family members over the phone and attempted to create conflicts between her and her family.
Ms. Wang Xiuqing, of Shuangcheng District, was harassed by several plainclothes officers at home on December 18, 2024. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. They also took some photos of her.
Ms. Xu Yanwei also had her home ransacked on December 19, 2024. Her Falun Gong books, computer, a satellite receiver, and two media players were confiscated.
Wang Shiping’s home was ransacked on December 20, 2024. The police took away Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and a computer. While Wang was not at home at that time, the police took his or her family to the local police station for interrogation and released them later.
Ms. Yu Guoxia and her daughter Ms. Xu Yanmei from Luqiao Town were taken to a brainwashing center. They started a hunger strike to protest the persecution and were taken to the hospital after their health deteriorated.
Ms. Tao Lijie, from Xingnong Village of Lianxing Township, was arrested by the local police on the morning of December 19, 2024. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer.
