(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Gong during childhood and am now a young adult practitioner. Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, has helped me along the way these past years.
Due to a job change, I recently started working for a news organization in China. Like other ordinary citizens, I observe what is unfolding related to the China-U.S. relations without saying anything. Even though my role at work is small, I am still one of the “screws” in the propaganda machine of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
As a Falun Gong practitioner, however, I am very worried about the situation. On the one hand, I can feel the pressure and urgency, since many people had been deceived by the CCP’s propaganda; on the other hand, I cannot do much because of my heavy workload. Plus, it is not easy to tell people about Falun Gong in this environment.
Furthermore, I have fully witnessed the nine inherited traits of the CCP as described in Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party: evil, deceit, incitement, unleashing the scum of society, espionage, robbery, fighting, elimination, and control. In fact, almost all officials at my workplace function as CCP spies. Seeing them working with people from other continents, including those from the U.S., to turn against the U.S., I feel very frustrated, as if I’m living in a world of darkness in which black and white have been reversed.
Once, I was sent to receive some secret training, which encouraged people to spy and report on each other. The CCP has essentially launched unrestricted warfare; meanwhile, the officials and coworkers at my workplace are busy producing or propagating the CCP’s lies.
As a Falun Gong practitioner, I know I should follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to look within and become a good person while helping to save people. I wondered why I am working here and seeing all this.
Thinking though this issue, I came up with three reasons why I am in this role:
First, I need to act righteously and be a good person so that I can tell my colleagues about Dafa and the persecution when opportunities present themselves.
Second, I used to respect and even admire those are are “successful” at work. Now I have learned that being “successful” at a workplace like mine means doing bad deeds, and is not something to be proud of.
Thirdly, I need to stay calm and determined while following Dafa’s principles. I am not here to watch the China-U.S. drama unfolding; rather, I have a mission as a Dafa practitioner to do things well.
Master said,
“Don’t forget that your purpose is to save people, and the reason to run a media company well is to save people. Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish. There is nothing else for you to accomplish. There is nothing else in this world that you need to accomplish. Those are the things that you need to work toward, and yet some people no longer pay much attention to even their own cultivation, and have instead made a priority of ordinary things. Haven’t you strayed from the path of Dafa disciples’ cultivation, then?” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)
Now my thinking is clearer. I no longer feel lost and, no matter what happens in everyday society, I know my role here – always improving myself and helping save people.
Above are my understandings. Please point it out if anything is inconsistent with Dafa’s teachings.
