Additional Persecution News from China – December 27, 2024 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yuan Wenge Falls into a Coma in Prison

Ms. Yuan Wenge, 79, from Shenze County, was arrested on December 23, 2021. She was later sentenced to three years in prison, and was held in Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison. Her prison term was to end on December 20, 2024.

On December 10, 2024, Ms. Yuan suddenly fell to the ground while taking a shower. She fell into a coma the next morning and was taken to Hebei Province People’s Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage. Prison officials said that they would only pay for medical expenses until January 1, 2025, up to 1,500 yuan per day, and would not cover any expenses thereafter.

Ms. Yuan’s two daughters are now taking care of her in the hospital.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Huiqiang Held in Detention Center

Mr. Zhang Huiqiang from Dongzhou District was arrested and had his home searched on the evening of October 21, 2024. He was issued an arrest warrant on November 27 and transferred from the Shenhe District Detention Center to the Dadong Detention Center afterwards.

3. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Yanli Taken to Shandong Women’s Prison

Ms. Fu Yanli, 58, was arrested by Zhao Feng and others from the Political Security Division of Daiyue District Police Department on October 25, 2023. Her case was subsequently turned over to the Daiyue District Procuratorate. She was sentenced to two years and fined 10,000 yuan by the Daiyue District Court on August 6, 2024. She appealed with the Tai’an City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold the original verdict on September 25. She was admitted to the Shandong Women’s Prison around November 20.

4. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Practitioner Wei Xiaoqing Arrested

Practitioner Wei Xiaoqing, around 60, was handcuffed while being arrested by police officers in November 2024. Wei’s current situation is unknown.

5. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Jinfeng Followed and Harassed

Ms. Xu Jinfeng from Fuyu County was followed and harassed by Sha Shengli and other officers from Tiedong Police Station in late December 2024. They staked out her residence, followed her when she went out and took pictures of her. A surveillance camera was also installed outside the entrance of her apartment.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Wang Zhenhe Arrested

Practitioner Wang Zhenhe was arrested by officers from the Liyuan Police Station while distributing Falun Gong materials at a farmers market on the morning of December 20, 2024. Wang was interrogated and released hours later. Wang’s Falun Gong materials were also confiscated.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shuhua Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuhua from Shuangcheng District was arrested in her rental home on December 22, 2024.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Chunping’s Home Ransacked

Officers from the Lequn Police Station raided Ms. Wang Chunping’s home in Lequn Township, Shuangcheng District, on the evening of December 18, 2024. They confiscated her computer, cell phone, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang was not at home, and the officers took her non-practitioner husband Mr. Chen Deyu to the police station.

9. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Luo Shuhua’s Case Brought to Court

Ms. Luo Shuhua’s case was recently brought to Weihui City Court.

10. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners’ Cases Brought to Court

The case files of practitioners Mr. Liu Haitao, Ms. Huang Yuping, Ms. Li Shuqin, Mr. Wang Guozhong, and Ms. Lai Chunlian were brought to the local court on December 20, 2024. The prosecutor ordered them to plead guilty, and they refused to cooperate. The five practitioners were arrested in July 2024 and have since been released on bail.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Daping’s Home Ransacked

Officers from Lequn Township, Shuangcheng District, broke into Ms. Wang Daping’s home on December 18, 2024. They ransacked the place, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. They arrested Ms. Wang’s husband, who is not a practitioner, and released him the following day. Ms. Wang, who escaped the arrest, has been forced to live away from home to hide from the police.

12. [Jinsha County, Guizhou Province] Six Harassed and Three Detained

Six practitioners, including Hu Anping, Zhong Yuanfen, Huang Lingyuan, Liu (first name unknown), Dai Qinyi, and Ding Changliu, were harassed for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong since October 2024. Their homes were searched.

Hu was arrested in October 2024 and detained for 12 days for giving away flash drives containing Falun Gong information. Ding and Dai were followed and arrested by the police on December 11, 2024. They were detained at the Jinsha County Detention Center for ten and five days, respectively.
