We Should Let Go of Ego and Not Create Divisions Among Practitioners

(Minghui.org) Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, recently released a new scripture, “Critical Times Reveal One’s Spiritual State,” that touches on practitioners’ fundamental purposes in life, which are to help Master save lives, and to uphold Dafa. The old forces will try to play on our emotions and notions, and divide us, so we should be alert for their tricks and not fall for them. I’d like to share two examples of how practitioners in our area handled their differences from the perspective of a cultivator.

A few years ago, another practitioner and I disagreed on ways to save people. The local practitioners divided into two groups. Some practitioners in the other group criticized and spread rumors about me and the practitioners who sided with me. They held a meeting and forced us, like during the Cultural Revolution, to reveal our past mistakes, which had nothing to do with saving people. Not being able to look within myself, the seeds of discord were sowed among us.

Not long after that, the police carried out a mass arrest of practitioners in our area, and many were sentenced. Some are still in prison to this day. We learned a lesson the hard way.

Dafa practitioners came to this world with the same missions, and should cherish one another after what we’ve been through in the persecution. We should treat each other with forbearance and compassion even if we’ve made mistakes.

One practitioner sent a message to several practitioners, saying that I had demonic interference from my own mind. I was so upset that I did not attend group Fa study for two weeks. Instead of looking within, I listed all of that practitioner’s mistakes and convinced myself that I had done better than him. I quickly realized that was wrong and began to look inward, and finally passed the test. I was truly grateful for what the practitioner did to help my cultivation.
