(Minghui.org) Minghui.org recently learned that Ms. Yang Shuzhen was sentenced to four years in prison for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. She appealed the verdict.
Ms. Yang from Jingyu County, Jilin Province, was arrested at her home on July 15, 2024, by officers from the Jingyu County Domestic Security Division. Her Falun Gong books, computer, and paper currency with information about Falun Gong printed on the bills (as a creative way practitioners in China use to raise awareness about the persecution) were confiscated. She was held at the Baishan City Detention Center and denied family visits.
The police later submitted Ms. Yang’s case to the Jingyu County Procuratorate, which indicted her.
Ms. Yang’s family was notified by the Jingyu County Court on January 29, 2025 that she was sentenced to four years, but they still didn’t know the details of her trial or sentence.
