(Minghui.org) A Changchun City, Jilin Province resident serving time for his faith in Falun Gong has been forced to sit on a small stool for about 17 hours a day for three months and counting.

Mr. Lang Baiming was arrested on July 20, 2023. Minghui.org learned in late January 2025 that he had been sentenced to either 3 or 5 years and admitted to the Jilin Prison. For more than three months now, he has to sit on the small stool from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
Many other detained Falun Gong practitioners were also subjected to the same torture. Their buttocks often festered after just a few days of such long-time sitting. Mr. Lang’s condition is unclear. The prison guards also imposed other forms of torture (similar to the ones used at the Yinmahe Labor Camp described below) on the practitioners.
Prior to his latest sentencing, Mr. Lang was repeatedly arrested and given two forced labor terms for a total of three years and two months. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 2000 and was arrested there while doing Falun Gong exercises near Tiananmen Square. After being escorted back to Changchun, he was held at a detention center for a few days. The police arrested him again in late 2000 and gave him two years of forced labor at the Yinmahe Labor Camp.
The labor camp guards subjected Mr. Lang and other detained Falun Gong practitioners to various forms of torture, including savage beatings, electric shocks, being tied up with ropes to be hung up or restrained in a bed, big split-up (see image below), force-feeding, having eyeball flicked, being handcuffed and hung up by the wrists, exposure to the elements, sleep deprivation, and having head covered with plastic bags. One practitioner had an electric baton inserted into his rectum and was shocked for more than one hour.

Mr. Lang was force-fed after he went on a hunger strike in protest. The guards instructed several inmates to hold him down and pry his mouth open. They next inserted a tube into his stomach through his mouth. Labor camp doctor Jin also pricked him on the head with a thick needle. After force-feeding him a bowl of corn paste mixed with salt, they grabbed his arms and forced him to run laps. They also punched him in the stomach in the name of helping with his digestion.
A few other practitioners were also brutally force-fed. Mr. Zhao Xishun and Mr. Pan Gang both had their incisors knocked out during the force-feeding.
When Mr. Lang’s term was up, the police seized him from the labor camp and put him in a nursing home. They didn’t set him free until he was forced to write statements to renounce Falun Gong. The local village secretary took him to the local police station a year later and forced him to press his fingerprints on a document.
Mr. Lang later had an accident and suffered head injuries. He underwent surgery, but couldn’t afford post-surgery care. He recited “Falun Dafa is good” and miraculously recovered, which further strengthened his faith. Three officers from the Jijia Police Station arrested him on August 1, 2008 because he was heard saying “Falun Dafa is good” in public. They gave him one year and two months of forced labor at the same Yinmahe Labor Camp.
After his term was up, the local 610 Office ordered him to write statements to renounce Falun Gong. He refused to comply.
