Mr. Wang Qingkai, of Anyang City, Henan Province, died on April 25, 2014, just days after he was harassed for his faith in Falun Gong. He was in his 60s. 

Prior to his last persecution episode, Mr. Wang was arrested multiple times and once held at a brainwashing center located in a hotel. His wife, who suffered from a mental disorder, was deeply traumatized and lived in fear. She died a few years before her husband’s passing.

The local police often intensified their persecution of Mr. Wang around sensitive dates, such as April 25th (when on that day in 1999, 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Beijing to appeal for their right to freely practice their faith). The police came at Mr. Wang again a few days before April 25, 2014, and he suddenly died on April 25.
