Additional Persecution News from China – February 27, 2025 (6 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yanling Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Li Yanling from Tulihe Town was sentenced to three years in prison. No further details are available.

2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hou Shihua and His Wife Meng Fancui Arrested

Mr. Hou Shihua, 64, and his wife Ms. Meng Fancui, from Tugou Village, Shizilu Town, Ju’nan County, were arrested on the morning of February 24, 2025, after the police broke into their home. They are currently held at the Linyi City Detention Center.

In recent years, the couple have been harassed at home almost every year by officers from the Chengnan Police Station in Ju’nan County. Their latest arrest took place after Hedong District police tracked Mr. Hou’s car for quite some time.

3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Hong’e Held in Detention Center

Ms. Zhao Hong’e is being held in the Dandong City Detention Center. Other details about her situation are unknown.

4. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. An Caifeng Detained for Six Months and Counting

Ms. An Caifeng, about 78 years old and a factory retiree, has been detained since her arrest on September 4, 2024. The police did not notify her family, nor did they provide them any written notice regarding her arrest or detention location. Ms. An’s family has gotten word that she may face trial soon.

5. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners in Sanyuan County were arrested by officers from the Lehuacheng Police Station and East Yuandian Road Police Station, in Xixian New Area, between September 4 and 5, 2024.

Ms. Li Congling, 76, was arrested at home around 10 a.m. on September 4, 2024, by officers from the Lehuacheng Police Station. The police rummaged through all ten rooms of her home and the courtyard, confiscating several Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder. She was held at the police station for three days and then released.

At around 11 a.m. on September 4, 2024, the police knocked on the door of Ms. Yang Mei’e, 64. She did not open the door. They then went to the workplace of her husband, Mr. Yang Kewen, 69, where they arrested him and took his keys. When no one was at home the next day, the police raided the couple’s home and confiscated two sets of Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer and a printer, among other things. Mr. Yang was held at the East Yuandian Road Police Station for three days. He was placed under residential surveillance after being released.

The police also broke into the home of Mr. Yang Xijing, 59 and the younger brother of Ms. Yang Mei’e, on September 5, 2024. He was not at home at the time, and escaped arrest.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Mingying Faces Further Surveillance After Serving Wrongful Term

Ms. He Mingying from Faku County was arrested in November 2023 while boarding a train at Shenyang North Railway Station. She was later sentenced to one year by the Hunnan District Court. The Shenyang City Intermediate Court denied her appeal and ruled to uphold her original verdict.

On February 19, 2025, weeks before Ms. He’s scheduled released on March 1 from the Shenyang City First Detention Center, officers from the local Justice Bureau called her eldest daughter and said that they would take Ms. He to the police station on her release day for photographs. Ms. He’s daughter said she would pick up Ms. He herself and refused to cooperate with the authorities.
