March 12, 2025 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) A 72-year-old Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, resident was sentence to two years with a 60,000-yuan fine in early March 2025 for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Sun Shuling had a car accident decades ago that resulted in severe head injury. She completely recovered after taking up Falun Gong in 2006. While distributing calendars with information about Falun Gong at a community fair in November 2024, she was reported to the police. The arresting officers raided her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials. Although they released her on bail shortly afterwards, they still submitted her case to the procuratorate to seek prosecution against her.

Minghui.org recently learned that Ms. Sun had been sentenced to prison in March 2025 and she is now serving time at the Weihai Prison. Details about her indictment, trial, and sentencing aren’t clear.
