80-Year-Old Woman Earns Neighbors’ Admiration by Clearing Snow and Trash for 20 Years

(Minghui.org) Although I’m eighty years old, people say I look like in my 60s. I feel light and healthy, and I’m cheerful and optimistic. It feels as though my feet don’t touch the ground when I walk, and even young people cannot keep up with me. When I go out every day and buy things, I clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to people. By the time I return home, the truth has been clarified, people with predestined relationships have been saved, and I’ve bought the things I need. I am always in a happy mood. My neighbors and people who know me all say, “This eighty-year-old woman is even more energetic than young people.”

The building I live in does not have a custodian, so twenty years ago, I began cleaning the public areas and taking out the trash.

I clean the building every morning. The odor from the trash in the alley is so strong that I find it hard to breathe, but when I don’t think about it, I no longer smell it, and I eventually got used to it.

It’s tiring to clear the snow in the winter, so my daughter, husband and I clear it together. After we move the snow, we need to pull the trash to the collection area dozens of meters away. Sometimes, my son and daughter-in-law also help out—it’s a family effort, but none of us complain.

It’s easy to do this for a month or two, and may not be too difficult to do this for one or two years, but the difficulty is doing it on a daily basis for 20 years. The thought of doing this every day for many years makes it a great test. However, I’m a Falun Dafa practitioner—a being who lives for others. I should follow Master’s teachings, so I’ll definitely persist.

The neighbors got to know me, and said, “Thank you,” and, “This old lady is really capable.” I used the opportunity to clarify the truth to them, “I’m now healthy, but more than 30 years ago, I couldn’t clean my own home, much less do all this. After I began practicing Falun Dafa, my health improved. My Master told us to do good deeds for others. That’s why I’m doing this. If didn’t practice Falun Dafa, I wouldn’t be willing to help others like this. If you want to thank someone, thank our Master.” At the same time, I also ask them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. They happily accept what I say. Some people shout when they see me, “Falun Dafa is good!” I’m happy that they are saved after understanding the truth.

In this way, year after year, more and more people in the area have come to know me. I tell all of them about the truth of Falun Dafa, ask them to quit the Party, and sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good.” When practitioners come to my house, the neighbors are fine with it and no one has reported me. Once, when a practitioner came to my house when I was out, a little girl helped her find me. This shows that the neighbors, be it adults or children, all know that I’m a good person and that people who practice Falun Dafa are good people.

The snow this year was especially heavy, and I worked hard clearing the snow and dragging the trash out. When my rubbish cart disappeared, I bought another one. Some neighbors wanted to give me money but I refused. A neighbor helped build a shed for the cart and I bought him gifts in return. Whenever people give me something, I return the favor. I don’t take advantage of anyone. I just want to do good for others because this is in line with Dafa’s requirement.

When the police came to harass us (because I practice Falun Dafa), my husband stopped them at the door, and did not allow them to take photos. He told them about all the good deeds I did and how I cleaned the building. The police had nothing to say and left. They no longer came to harass me.

Another time, a neighbor fell seriously ill and her daughter called me. I told her, “Please say, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance is good.’” The woman did as I asked, got better quickly, and did not need to go to the hospital.

Master is always watching over us, and he protects those who sincerely say, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
