(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Mao Yanping and Ms. Wang Juying from Xupu County were arrested by the Xupu County police on February 27, 2025. They are currently held in the Huaihua City Detention Center.
Wang Taizhen, gender unknown, from Ranghulu District, was arrested by officers from the Longgang Police Department on February 20, 2025, when talking to a student about Falun Gong. Wang was given a ten-day administrative detention at the Daqing City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhou Huanzhen was harassed by officers from the Chengzhong Police Station and Zhouchen Village Committee members on February 25 and 26, 2025. They took photos of the interior and exterior of her house. Another practitioner, Ms. Liu Jiaoya, was also harassed around the same time and the perpetrators took photos of her against her will. The police indicated that they were ordered to check on the practitioners before the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, also known as the “Two Sessions,” which were to be convened in Beijing in March 2025.
In March 2025, Ms. Zhang Shuxia and Qu Jun, gender unknown, from Hongguang Farm were harassed and had their photos taken prior to the “Two Sessions.”
Mr. Jiang Qi from Jilatu Township was harassed by the local police. The officers said they received an order from above to confirm that the practitioners stayed home while the “Two Sessions” were being held in Beijing.
Staffers from the Yuanzhongchang community went to Ms. Yan Daoxia’s home on February 27, 2025. They took photos of her and ordered her to not go out to talk to people about Falun Gong and the persecution.
Ms. Yan Guangyu’s daughter was harassed by local community personnel over the phone. They warned her that Ms. Yan wasn’t allowed to go out to clarify the facts about Falun Gong.
Ms. Sang Yuanxiu and Ms. Chen Gongyu were harassed on the afternoon of February 27 by two Chanling Police Station officers, who also ordered them not to go out to distribute Falun Gong informational materials.
Ms. Li Wenhong, 57, was tried by the Yongxiu County Court on October 31, 2024. She testified in her own defense. The judge adjourned the hearing without announcing the verdict. The judge held another hearing on Ms. Li’s case on December 25, 2024, without informing her family. She was released on February 16, 2025. It’s not clear whether she was convicted.
Officers from the Qiansuo Town Police Station in Suizhong County went to Ms. Wang Li’s workplace to harass her on March 3, 2025. They demanded that she sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong. She refused to comply. The officers took photos of Ms. Wang without her persmission.
