(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in upstate New York participated and were warmly welcomed in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the cities of Port Jervis, Milford, and Goshen.
On March 2, 2025, despite the cold weather and strong winds, the seventh St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Port Jervis was held. The practitioners’ entry included an exercise team, a waist drum team, and a lotus flower team. Many people took photos and applauded the practitioners. A spectator followed the practitioners’ movements as they did the exercises and said he would read the flyer and learn more about Falun Dafa.

Practitioners participated in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Milford near Port Jervis on March 16. Milford, New York, was founded in 1796, and is known for its quaint, historic buildings. The streets were lined with people the day of the parade. This was the first time practitioners participated in this parade. Their entry consisted of an exercise group, a lotus flower team, and a waist drum team.

That same day, March 16, practitioners participated in the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day parade in Goshen, Orange County. In addition to practitioners demonstrating the exercises, young practitioners dressed in armor played Tang Dynasty drums. Practitioners carried signs that read, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” in Chinese and English.

There was a hint of spring in the air, and the parade route was lined with people. Many enthusiastically applauded, took photos, or thanked practitioners for participating.
Karl A. Brabenec, an assemblyman of the 98th District of New York State, said, “It’s important to appreciate everyone’s different cultures and traditions. Such exchanges bring all Americans together and make us the greatest country in the world.”
The former Orange County parade coordinator warmly welcomed practitioners and said, “We have a very large team to show traditional Chinese culture in the parade. It is worth celebrating. It’s really great to have members of our Chinese community participate.”
William Michael Coffey, coordinator of the Mid-Hudson parade, said, “Today is a beautiful day, and it is also a good day for the Irish. Today we are all Irish!”
Maria Salzman, who practices Falun Dafa, said, “Today we stand together with the Irish and all people of faith.”
