(Minghui.org) I am a 62-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner who started practicing Dafa in 1999. Over the past eight years, I have been clarifying the truth to people face to face and would like to share some of my experiences during this time with Master and fellow practitioners.

Repairing the Road

I used to take my grandson to and from kindergarten in a neighboring village and noticed that there were many potholes in several sections of the two-kilometer (1.2-mile) stretch of road due to disrepair and truck traffic. This main road connects several villages where many families own greenhouses and have cherry trees and fields of strawberry bushes. Many wealthy families live in these villages, but no one was interested in repairing the road.

I decided to fill in the potholes. I brought several bags of dirt from my family’s field on my electric tricycle, but that wasn’t nearly enough. One day, I saw a bulldozer pushing a pile of dirt and rubble out of a distant mountain field. I explained to the owner what I wanted to do, and he readily agreed to give me the dirt.

On my way home after taking my grandson to school, I picked up rocks from the ditch alongsie the road to line the bottoms of the holes. I then filled the holes with the dirt and rubble from the mountain field. I am a thin woman, and it was hard work for me. I was often sweating profusely.

It took me a week to repair a small section of the road. Then the rain washed away all I’d done. But I learned from this setback and insisted on completing the repairs.

People passing by, whether they were working, walking, driving, taking their children to school, or going to the market in the city, all looked at me in surprise and admiration. Some drivers stopped their cars, leaned out, gave me a thumbs-up, and said, “Great!” Some said, “Thank you so much.” The children’s parents were even more amazed.

Between my own field work and housework, it took me three weeks to repair the road once. A parent at my grandson’s school remarked, “I think Falun Gong practitioners are the best and kindest. For 10 years, the entire road has been full of potholes. Rich or poor, no one cared. They would rather see the cherries and strawberries be spoiled than repair the road. A Falun Gong practitioner took care of it. Who wouldn’t respect her?”

Many people in this village had been misled by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda that slandered Dafa. They refused to listen to the facts and attacked Dafa practitioners. During the four years my grandson was in school there, after I repaired the road, I clarified the truth to the people in this village. In addition, fellow practitioners distributed truth-clarification materials. This changed their understanding and helped them know the truth. When we encouraged them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, most of them were eager to.

Clarifying the Truth Doing Part-Time Jobs

I find part-time jobs at cherry and strawberry farms. I often work in a greenhouse, and the owner is usually not present. Every day, I start work 10 to 15 minutes early and work an extra 5 to 10 minutes later in the morning and afternoon. That means I work 40 to 50 minutes extra every day.

Ordinary people would never do that. They would never start to work before the scheduled time and request compensation if they work overtime even for five minutes. Sometimes when I see that the owner’s family is too busy to eat, I give them the steamed buns I made at home. Then when I give them a USB drive with truth-clarification information on it, they gladly accept it.

I am not working for money but to offer salvation. So, after one employer’s family understands the truth and quits the CCP, I move on to the next family and clarify the truth there. Later, I go work for another family.

Validating Dafa in Everyday Life

Our words and actions reflect the image of a Dafa practitioner, and people are watching. That means that righteous thoughts and actions and kindness are crucial. I often give lonely elderly people and disabled people who are unable to work vegetables, fruit, steamed buns, and so on, and help them with whatever work I am able to do.

During the wheat harvest last year, I visited a practitioner one evening and saw that the wheat drying on her bungalow was not covered. I reminded her to cover the wheat, but she said there were stars in the sky so it would not rain. At about two in the morning, I was awakened by a rumble of thunder and pouring rain. I got dressed and ran to her home.

In the darkness, I saw a man leaning on a shovel, staring helplessly at the wheat. It was someone in our village who was sick and couldn’t work, and he was so distressed that he couldn’t even breathe. Instead of going to the practitioner’s home, I grabbed his shovel and started to pile up the wheat. His son soon arrived, and we finished the work together, soaking wet. I didn’t waste any time catching my breath and ran to the practitioner’s home.

That man later told everyone he met, “People who practice Falun Gong have kind hearts.” He, his son, and his daughter-in-law renounced the CCP.
