(Minghui.org) I’ve noticed that in Vietnam an increasing number of large-scale public activities have been held in recent months to promote Falun Dafa. These activities, such as parades and waist drum performances, were well-coordinated and seemed to be the result of hard work and righteous intentions.
But are they? As practitioners, we should ask whether these activities followed Master’s teachings, or just satisfied our attachments.
Master told us:
“So our practitioners in Vietnam should maintain their composure during this unusual time, and for now not engage in large-scale activities meant to raise awareness—much less take countermeasures. Cultivation is about working on oneself, after all, and removing attachments, so for the time being you can study the Fa and do the exercises mainly on your own, and not organize large group-study sessions or exercises. Don’t let any lies from the media agitate or provoke you. Just quietly observe things. If anyone tries to stir things up, there are problems on that person’s part! Be sure to keep this in mind.” (“To the Practitioners of Vietnam”)
I believe this isn’t just a reminder, but a clear instruction from Master Li. The political environment in Vietnam remains sensitive, and cultivating in such an environment requires us to have more control, wisdom, and patience.
Some practitioners, however, after seeing others outside of Vietnam hold various large-scale public events, became increasingly more eager to push for similar activities. Many individuals also rely on support and resources from non-practitioners to boost their confidence and influence. This has led to the formation of cliques and individual practitioners promoting themselves. All of these, in my opinion, have deviated from the Fa and hurt the overall cultivation environment.
The practitioners in these small circles usually do not work with other practitioners, but do their own things. They believe they’re making connections with overseas practitioners and deem that holding such public activities is a sign of cultivating well.
I know that the Hong En Waist Drum Team has frequently organized large-scale parades. These participants need to take the time to consider whether the activities are in line with Master’s teachings, or based on zealous actions that neglect the safety of local practitioners.
Master often tells us to remove attachments and abide by the Fa, not look for fame, influence, or other achievements. Cultivation is a serious matter, and the path of our journey is narrow. We should not deviate from the teachings and let our passion for doing Dafa work override reason and righteous thoughts.
Before we organize or initiate Dafa activities, we should ask ourselves whether what we are doing conforms to Master’s arrangements for us, or whether they could harm our cultivation environment and mainly serve to validate ourselves.
I believe that Master expects practitioners in Vietnam to remain poised, act in accordance with the Fa’s teachings, and improve as one body.
