San Francisco, USA: Picture Display Marks April 25 Appeal

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners displayed pictures in front of the San Francisco City Hall on April 22, 2025, to commemorate the 26^th anniversary of the April 25 appeal.

Wu Junxiang, the event coordinator, said, “On April 25, 1999, more than 10,000 Falun Dafa [also known as Falun Gong] practitioners went to the Appeals Office in Beijing to petition for the release of practitioners who’d been arrested in Tianjin. It was a peaceful appeal. But in July of that year, the CCP began to systemtically persecute practitioners and is now even involved in forced organ harvesting. We are here today to call on the US government to pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong.”

Mr. An, who began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, said, “I participate in the April 25 commemoration activities every year to introduce Dafa to the world. I hope that more and more people will learn about Falun Gong, recognize the evil nature of the CCP, and work together to stop the persecution.”

A Passerby Interested in Learning Falun Gong

Gio works for the San Francisco Unified School District.

When Gio saw the practitioners’ peaceful group practice, she was interested in learning the exercises, “I know that meditation is good for us and makes us calm. I will retire soon and want to learn more about Falun Gong.”

When she learned that Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted in China, she said, “Persecution is wrong—people should have freedom of speech.”

The principles of Falun Gong resonated with her. “I’m a Catholic and I grew up in Panama. My grandfather is Chinese and practices Buddhism. Falun Gong makes people feel peaceful. I want to learn it.”

An elderly man from San Francisco admired the paintings on display. After learning about Falun Gong, he said, “The persecution must stop. We should file a complaint with the International Court of Justice and protest the CCP’s its inhumane behavior. We are dealing with human rights issues. Falun Gong practitioners are peacefully gathering here and practicing their belief. The Chinese communist regime is evil.”
