(Minghui.org) In 2021, a Falun Dafa practitioner close to me was arrested by police while clarifying the truth to people. Although he was released shortly after, the police impounded his car, and searched and ransacked his house. Somehow, I was also implicated.
In the evening, I sat on my bed and thought: Why are the police able to persecute Dafa practitioners? On what grounds are they able to do so?
Master Li told us,
“So whether it is good things or bad things you run into, so long as you cultivate in Dafa, they are all positive, to be sure.”(Teachings at the 2005 Conference in San Francisco)
Then, why couldn’t I see anything positive in this incident? Another paragraph of Master’s teaching came to mind:
“This especially holds true in the Fa-rectification period, where all of the cosmos’s beings, both positive and negative, want to be saved. And that includes even the unimaginably massive gods at the highest of planes, as well as, notably, the sentient beings of their worlds. It is because of this that they have managed to have a presence in the human world, and in the Three Realms. Could they forgo this once-in-eons opportunity to be saved? “You have to save me”—they all utter this, imploring to be saved. But the way this comes across is not what one would expect by using the kind of reasoning and comprehension found in the human world, such as how you must be courteous and humble when asking for help—“As you are here to save me, I must first express my gratitude toward you, and I will do my part to make it easier”—it’s nothing like that. As they see it, “If you are to save me, you have to reach my level first, and you must have this measure of mighty virtue before you can save me. Without such mighty virtue, without having reached my stature, how could you save me?” So they would have you trip and fall, suffer, and eliminate your attachments, after which, with your mighty virtue having been established, you will have cultivated to that level and be able to save them. That’s how they want to have it.”(Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa - Fa Teaching Given at the 2011 Washington DC Metro Area Fa Conference)
Master was trying to enlighten a principle to me with this paragraph of Fa teaching, and my thoughts became clearer. Concerning beings in the old cosmos, everything they do mirrors the old principles they hold at their levels, which leads them to believe that what they do is right. However, when evaluated by the righteous Fa of the new universe, their actions are deemed wrong. So, what is the right way for us to act? Gradually, I began to think more clearly and realized the following principles.
1. In Dafa cultivation, as soon as a part of us becomes assimilated to the Fa, Master separates it from the uncultivated part. Therefore, what the beings of the old cosmos see are only the parts of us that have not yet been cultivated well. As a result, they think that Dafa disciples’ levels are not as high as theirs, which is why they dare to persecute us.
2. Beings that participate in the persecution of Dafa practitioners follow the standards of the old cosmos, which Master does not recognize during the Fa-rectification. Furthermore, they are the standards of the old cosmos in the final phase of “Destruction,” which are far from the standards of the “Formation” stage of the old cosmos, and do not compare with the standards of the new cosmos.
3. Only Master and Dafa can save the beings of the old cosmos, which is why Dafa disciples clarify the truth—to save sentient beings. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to choose what to believe and how to conduct themselves. All the mighty virtue and honor of Dafa disciples in assisting Master in saving sentient beings are, in fact, benevolently bestowed by our compassionate Master.
As I was thinking about these things, I gradually saw that I was sitting in full lotus position above white clouds and mist. I heard a voice from the clouds say, “Amid the boundless sea of mist, eyes strain with longing—sentient beings are waiting in hope.”
Even in an altered state of consciousness, I saw things clearly. Although I was the only one sitting in the mist, I sensed that the entire sea of mist was filled with beings. Just then, I felt a powerful surge of energy rise from my lower abdomen and pierce through my entire body, brain, and thoughts. It ascended from a microscopic level and went above my head, forming a white pillar that matched the diameter of my head. When it had risen about two or three meters above me, a red ball appeared on top that was slightly larger than the diameter of the pillar.
I looked at it quietly, not knowing what it was. Suddenly, a voice from the pillar said, “beacon tower,” then “guiding light.” I immediately understood that I am like a beacon tower. My body is the base, the white pillar is the shaft of the tower, and the red ball is the guiding light. It reminded me of the lyrics of the song “The Truth Is the Guiding Light” in Hong Yin III. I used to think that “guiding light” was only used as a metaphor, but it does indeed exist!
I felt quite overwhelmed by the realization that Dafa practitioners who spread the truth far and wide are like countless guiding lights for sentient beings, showing them the way to return home.
Just then, I heard the pillar reciting Master’s poem “Bell Tower” in Hong Yin II,
“It’s mighty sound stirs the realm of FaResonances of Fa stretch in ten directions”
I opened my eyes and saw that I was sitting quietly on my bed.
When I shared my observations and insights with the fellow practitioner whom the police officer had earlier arrested, he also developed a deeper understanding of the Fa principles and further strengthened his righteous thoughts.
The next day, the police informed him that he could pick up the car they had impounded. Throughout this process, the police no longer had menacing expressions on their faces, but instead showed some kindness toward the practitioner.
The whole incident reminded us of another part of Master’s teaching:
“You are a cultivator and someone with extraordinary abilities, and you are a being who is walking the path to divinity. Whereas that being is an ordinary human, and he is powerless. So you shouldn’t always fix your gaze on the person at the surface. Only when you deal with the factors behind the scenes will you manage to resolve the problem at the root. Only then will you cause a given situation, or that person, to change.” (20th Anniversary Fa Teaching, Collected Teachings Around the World, Vol. XI)
