(Minghui.org) I wept the first time I read Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun, but I didn’t know why. I was able to read every word even though I was illiterate. As I read, I saw little white words hovering over the printed words on the book’s pages and underneath them were glittering lights. I was so touched that I cried out. My son and daughter rushed into the room and asked if I was okay. I told them what I saw. Soon after my family of 5 began practicing Falun Dafa.
I told everyone I met how wonderful Falun Dafa is. I showed my neighbors the exercises and we read the Fa. I went to every household in my village and told people the facts about Falun Dafa. They all know Falun Dafa is good. I cultivate myself in everyday life, and I help my neighbors. When couples argue I try to help them and tell them how wonderful Falun Dafa is. The principles of Falun Dafa changed their hearts. Some said, “If we had a family member like you, our lives would be harmonious.” I told them that Falun Dafa taught me to behave according to the principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
I’d like to share some stories with you.
Minghua’s mother and his wife had a loud argument. When I heard them shouting I went there to see what was going on. The mother-in-law Jing (alias) was sitting on the kang (a bed made of bricks), while her daughter-in-law Lili (alias) stood in the kitchen and shouted at her. I didn’t ask why they fought—instead I asked who cooked the food on the table. Jing said Lili did. I asked how many meals a day she cooked. Jing said Lili cooked three meals a day. I asked who heated the kang. Jing said Lili did. I gave them a thumbs up and said, “Your son married a good woman.” I then went over to Lili’s kang and it was cold. When I asked Lili why she said, “We don’t have much wood. My mother-in-law has leg pain, which is worse when its cold, so I save the wood to heat her kang.”
I said, “Jing, you are so blessed! There aren’t many women like your daughter-in-law. Please look at Lili’s strengths, not her shortcomings. Who doesn’t have shortcomings? My Master teaches us to be truthful, kind and tolerant. If you’re good to her, she’ll treat you even better. If she’s at fault, practice tolerance. If you’re tolerant, the situation will change for the better.”
Jing laughed and thanked me. I said, “My Master teaches us the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” Lili said happily, “It’s a pity that we don’t have a person like you in our family. If someone talked to me like you do, maybe I wouldn’t have so many illnesses.” I said, “You’re kind, but you should learn how to be tolerant. When she swears at you she gives you ‘de’ (virtue), which is something you can’t buy with money. She’s helping you dissolve your karma, and your illness would disappear. Shouldn’t you thank her?” Jing and Lili laughed, and after that they no longer fought.
Lao Wu’s wife and his mother fought for 11 years. They couldn’t stay in the same room without arguing. One day I brought pepper vines to Wu’s wife. She said she hadn’t had dinner because her child was crying and she didn’t have time to cook. The pigs were howling, and she said she didn’t have time to feed them. I said, “You are the dumbest daughter-in-law in this village.” She blushed and asked me why I said this. I said, “Your in-laws sold their farm and have time to take care of your child. They have money to buy treats for your child. You should treat them well so that they’ll help you. That way you’ll have time to do the farming and raise the pigs. You can make good money.”
I said, “I admire Xiao Jun’s wife. She had a fight with her mother-in-law the day before. I told her to treat her mother-in-law kindly. Forgiving others is forgiving yourself. She brought her child and visited her mother-in-law the next morning and apologized to her. Her mother-in-law smiled and agreed to look after the child, and asked her to work on the farm with her husband. You see, if she didn’t apologize, she would have to look after her child herself as well as work on the farm.”
Lao Wu’s wife said, “I understand now. I’ve been arguing with my mother-in-law for 11 years. No one in my family could convince me to stop. I’ll take my child and visit my mother-in-law.”
Three days later I went back to Lao Wu’s home. His wife said, “I went to my mother-in-law’s house and asked her to look after my child. She was very happy and asked my father-in-law to buy food.”
Her mother-in-law helps look after the child, does the household chores and feeds the pigs. Her father-in-law does the gardening and cooks. She made clothes for her in-laws and bought good food for them. They got along very well. Her mother-in-law began practicing Falun Dafa. Her whole family withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
All the villagers know about Falun Dafa, and everyone recites, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They all benefited from it.
When the Party Secretary of the town Political and Legal Commission and a police officer from the local station came to inspect our village, they saw many truth-clarifying posters on the utility poles. They were shocked and asked the village Party secretary and the village head. The village head said, “They look beautiful. It’s beneficial to our village. It doesn’t do any harm. Don’t panic.” The Party secretary told the village head to take them down. The head said, “I won’t. You take them down.”
The Party secretary and the police officer stood on top of their car and tried to take the posters down. But the villagers wouldn’t let them remove the posters on the poles outside their homes. The Party secretary said, “The villagers act in unison. Why do they all listen to you?” I said, “If you lived here, you would act like them.” He said, “You could become the village coordinator from now on.”
The Party Secretary of the Political and Legal Commission was a woman. Her husband was a teacher in the primary school and was kind and upright. They greeted me warmly when I visited them the next day.
I said, “I practice Falun Dafa. My village is very poor. My husband and I were in poor health but we couldn’t afford to see a doctor. My three children who were ten, seven and five years old didn’t attend school because we could not pay the tuition. They took the responsibility of cooking, and feeding the pigs, ducks and chickens. My husband worked on the farm. He had severe stomach pain one day. The doctor at the clinic said that he had a gastric mucosal detachment and told him he needed surgery. But we couldn’t afford it. My brother told me that he became healthy after he started practicing Falun Dafa. He urged us to give it a try. We listened to him and started practicing Falun Dafa. My husband and I recovered from our illnesses. Falun Dafa brings us peace and happiness. If I didn’t practice Falun Dafa, I wouldn’t know how good Falun Dafa is.”
My husband and I visited the Party secretary of the town government. My husband sent forth righteous thoughts while I clarified the truth about the persecution to him. I talked for 4 hours, and he listened attentively.
My daughter was reported to the police while she was clarifying the truth to the villagers. The police station director and a police officer came in a police car. They asked her to get in. When she began clarifying the truth, the director said, “You don’t need to talk. Can I exchange some true-clarification notes with you? Also, please give me some Falun Dafa amulets.”
My daughter asked them to drive her home, and they did.
No one in the 28 villages in our area reported Falun Dafa practitioners to the police since then. The town government administration changes every three years. Every government official goes against the CCP’s orders and protects Falun Dafa practitioners.
Clarifying the truth is key. Practitioners must do well in their everyday life. We don’t do or say anything that is not in line with the Fa. We need to validate the Fa wherever we are. This way sentient beings will know Falun Dafa is wonderful.
