(Minghui.org) Two sisters in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, were recently sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Luo Suling, 67, was sentenced to one year and nine months, and fined 25,000-yuan. Her sister, Ms. Luo Suya, 61, was sentenced to two years and fined 30,000 yuan.
Ms. Luo Suling was arrested at the Huizhou City Train Station on July 18, 2024, while en route to Zhuhai City, which is about 200 miles south of Huizhou in the same province. The railroad police targeted her after currency with information about Falun Gong printed on the bills was found in her luggage during a security check. She was detained in Huizhou, and the Huizhou police traveled about 180 miles north to her home in Meizhou to raid her place three times.

A copy of Zhuan Falun (the main teaching of Falun Gong), a media player, and 100 yuan with Falun Gong information printed on the bills were confiscated. The police promised to release her in three days, but kept her in custody.
Both sisters were later taken back to Meizhou and held in the Chengdong Detention Center. Their arrests were formally approved by the Meijiang District Procuratorate on August 23, 2024.
The sisters’ joint case was later reassigned to Meixian District. They stood trial in the Meixian District Court on February 25, 2025 and were convicted around April 2025.
