(Minghui.org) Practitioners in some areas in Vietnam are planning large-scale activities, including organizing thousands of practitioners to hold character formations or images related to Falun Dafa. I’d like to ask these practitioners to stop and reflect, and measure what you do with what Master said to practitioners in Vietnam. Please think about whether this truly benefits the cultivation environment.
Vietnam is a communist country, so it’s especially important that practitioners consider the consequences of our actions. Any large-scale activities that provoke the authorities may bring unnecessary danger and interference to local practitioners. There have been cases of government suppression or violence against high-profile activities related to Dafa, so we should learn from these lessons in a positive way—such activities endanger not only the participants but all practitioners, and may impact the country’s future.
A few practitioners may think large-scale activities can better validate the Fa and raise public awareness. However, Master told practitioners in Vietnam,
“So if people fail to understand you or even if you face any pressure from the government, you shouldn’t take countermeasures like non-practitioners would, and should clarify things to people with kindness.” (“To the Practitioners of Vietnam”)
“Ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, it has been painting itself into a corner owing to pressure both internally as well as internationally. And persecuting spiritual believers has pushed its regime to the brink of collapse. CCP special agents who have infiltrated the Vietnamese government have, in order to shift the pressure away, used money, diplomatic means, and business interests to persuade the government to suppress Falun Gong practitioners. It has done this in hopes of shifting the attention of the international community and mitigating the pressure it has brought upon itself by persecuting Falun Gong in China. So our practitioners in Vietnam should maintain their composure during this unusual time, and for now not engage in large-scale activities meant to raise awareness—much less take countermeasures.” (“To the Practitioners of Vietnam”)
Please don’t be led astray by those who may be CCP agents and hold events that may provoke the government. If a practitioner does not listen to what Master says, he’s following the old forces’ arrangement.
When practitioners form cliques, and try to establish their influence among practitioners, they have deviated from the principles of the Fa. A genuine cultivator should remain humble, patient, and be highly aware of the environment they live in.
Some practitioners, driven by their attachments to reputation, personal interest and zealotry, like to, “Do big things and achieve something big.” These human notions may cloud their judgment, and push them to do things not in accordance with the Fa. We should learn from previous mistakes.
Another large-scale high-profile activity is the promotion of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. This should only be done in non-communist countries outside of China. The political climate in Vietnam remains sensitive, and any anti-communist activities could lead to severe government countermeasures.
Master asks us to clarify the truth with wisdom, and fully consider the local social and political factors. If what we do triggers conflicts and undermines our cultivation environment, we should look within and cultivate our xinxing.
Master said,“Cultivation is about working on oneself, after all, and removing attachments, so for the time being you can study the Fa and do the exercises mainly on your own, and not organize large group-study sessions or exercises.” (“To the Practitioners of Vietnam”)
It’s been over seven years since Master alerted us with this article, so practitioners in Vietnam should know that our responsibility is to clarify the truth in a way that’s understandable to the society they live in, and our cultivation environment—we should not to engage in activities that challenge the government
Master arranged the best for us, and only when we follow his guidance will our cultivation be smooth. Driven by our emotions and notions to do things that “make an impact” will only cause damage.
Master taught us,
“...whatever you do, you should consider others first, so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature, Essentials for Further Advancement”)
He further reminded the practitioners in Vietnam, “Cultivation is about working on oneself, after all, and removing attachments…” (“To the Practitioners of Vietnam”) We should all focus on what Master requires us to do, and improve our xinxing.
At this extraordinary historic moment, every practitioner should shoulder our responsibility to protect and cherish our cultivation environment. We are not afraid or passively avoiding conflicts, we are doing things with wisdom and that are based on the Fa. This is how we take responsibility for our cultivation and society.
Articles in which cultivators share their understandings typically reflect an individual's perception at a point in time based on their cultivation state, and they are offered in the spirit of enabling mutual elevation.
