(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuping Held in Psychiatric Hospital
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Harassed or Arrested
7. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Xueying Harassed
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Cuihua Detained for One Month and Counting
9. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Eight Arrested on the Same Day; Seven Still Detained
10. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Pengfei Sentenced

1. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuexiang and Ms. Sun Yufang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuexiang and Ms. Sun Yufang were arrested at noon on April 28, 2025 by Shouguang Domestic Security Division officers. The officers seized their Falun Gong books and pictures of the founder of Falun Gong. They were taken to Jitai Town Police Station for interrogation and released in the afternoon.

2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Four practitioners were sentenced to prison by a local court around late April of 2025. Ms. Guo Chunfang was sentenced to four years. Ms. Yang Sizhen and Mr. Yang Yihua (also known as Yang Minghua) were each sentenced one year and ten months. Mr. Xiao Wenxue was sentenced to a year with a two-year probation; he was released on the same day of the sentencing.

3. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tong Yannan Harassed

Mr. Tong Yannan was harassed at home by four officers from Huangzhou District Police Department on the evening of April 29, 2025. His Falun Gong books were confiscated.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chi Enhong Detained and His Wife Ms. Zhang Yuqing Arrested

Mr. Chi Enhong of Shenhe District was arrested by officers from Shenhe District Domestic Security Division and Binhe Police Station on April 16, 2025. He is being held in the Shenhe District Detention Center.

Mr. Chi’s wife, Ms. Zhang Yuqing, was arrested the same day. She was released for health reasons the next day, and has been under residential surveillance.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuping Held in Psychiatric Hospital

Ms. Zhang Shuping lives in East Caihe Village, Caitingqiao Town, Yutian County. She was taken to the Sanjiaoshan Psychiatric Hospital by her son, her daughter-in-law and Caitingqiao Town Police Station officers.

In the persecution of Falun Gong, mentally healthy practitioners are often taken to psychiatric hospitals for persecution. Some practitioners’ family members have cooperated with the authorities in persecuting their loved ones, fearful of being implicated. In Ms. Zhang’s case, her son and daughter-in-law were influenced by the demonizing propaganda spread by the communist regime, and they were threatened by the police that if she continues to practice Falun Gong, their children wouldn’t be allowed to attend college or find a good job.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Harassed or Arrested

Ms. Guo, 90 and first name unknown, lives in Nong’an County. Her home was ransacked by Baota Police Station officers at 7 a.m. on April 23, 2025. The officers seized her Falun Gong books, computer, and other items.

Ms. Shan, 81 and first name unknown, was arrested by Debiao Police Station officers at 7 a.m. on April 23, 2025. The officers seized her Falun Gong books, media players, cell phone, and other items. She was taken to the police department, where the police interrogated her, photographed her, and took her fingerprints. She was released after her son went to the police department to look for her.

Mr. Li, 86 and first name unknown, was harassed at home by Debiao Police Station officers at 8 a.m. on April 23, 2025. The officers seized his Falun Gong books, cell phone, and other items.

Ms. Li, 76 and first name unknown, was harassed at home between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on April 23, 2025. Her Falun Gong books, player, and other items were confiscated.

Ms. Jiao, 76 and first name unknown, was arrested at home and taken to the police station by Gucheng Police Station officers at 7 a.m. on April 23, 2025. The officers seized her Falun Gong books and other items. She was released after her son paid 5,000 yuan to the police.

7. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Xueying Harassed

Ms. Qu Xueying, nearly 70, of Ningxi Village, Ningyuan Town, was harassed at least eight times since August 2024, by officers from Ningyuan Town Police Station and Bin County Police Department. The officers attempted to force her to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Cuihua Detained for One Month and Counting

Ms. Wu Cuihua of Pulandian District was arrested in early April 2025. Her family went to the Nanshan Police Station and the Pulandian Police Department to demand her release multiple times, but to no avail.

9. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Eight Arrested on the Same Day; Seven Still Detained

Eight practitioners, Ms. Wang Haixia, Mr. Jia Huailou, Ms. Sun Shufang, Ms. He Ziqing, Ms. Dai Xueqin, Ms. Zhang Yuqin, Ms. Ren Xulan, and Ms. Xu Lifang, were arrested by Huaibin County Police Department officers on April 24, 2025. Ms. Xu was released on April 25, while others were given a 15-day detention.

10. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Pengfei Sentenced

Mr. Zhang Pengfei was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison. He is preparing to appeal the sentence.
