(Minghui.org) On 10 May 2025, Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners and people from all walks of life held a rally and cultural performances in front of Sydney Town Hall to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. Dignitaries attended the event or wrote letters to express their support.

Falun Dafa Is a Real Treasure

Falun Dafa helps people understand the nature of being human, our relationship with the universe, and how to find inner peace and live in peace with others. Falun Dafa is a real treasure that is taught to everyone for free. Falun Gong practitioners in China and around the world celebrate this day and work hard to help people understand the beauty of Dafa and not be deceived by the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime.”

Dr. Feng Chongyi, a Chinese Studies Scholar at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), said, “I am very pleased to participate in the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the founding of Falun Dafa, and I would like to pay tribute to Falun Dafa. I salute Falun Dafa practitioners!

“Falun Dafa is rooted in the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and its cultivation method of dual cultivation—internal and external [doing the exercises while improving one’s character], is a great contribution to mankind.”

He said, “The official introduction of Falun Dafa in 1992 is a timely and creative response to the bankruptcy of communist ideology in China and around the world, and to the collapse of morality as a whole.”

Dr. Feng appreciated practitioners’ perseverance and spirit and said, “Because of your persistence, you use the media to tell the truth. You have used word of mouth to expose the evil nature of the CCP, so that more people around the world can see the essence of the CCP clearly. This is a great contribution of Falun Dafa and its practitioners to mankind. So this effort of yours has also sparked a resurgence of conservatism on a global scale.”

Parramatta City Councillor Srini Piramari addressed the rally.

Cr Sreeni Pillamarri of Parramatta City Council said, “I am honored to be part of the Falun Dafa celebration. I have been associated with Falun Dafa for nearly 15 years, and this journey has been extremely meaningful.

“I think the philosophy of Falun Dafa is to celebrate, meditate, be compassionate, and be friendly with other communities. I think that’s why Falun Dafa is so meaningful to the community at this moment. So I am very grateful to the entire team (Falun Dafa practitioners) and to all the initiators, including the founder.”

Cumberland City Councilor Helen Hughes addressed the event.

Cumberland Councilor Cr Helen Hughes of Cumberland Council said, “The fundamental virtue of this great movement, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, is extraordinary in our lives.

“Especially considering that they continue to practice the basic principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They are committed to self-improvement for their personal well-being, and of course, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual upliftment as well as commitment to their faith. and contribute to the community by sharing the exercises.”

Federal election candidate Ganesh Locke addressed the rally.

“On this milestone occasion and the 33rd anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day, we want to celebrate not only Falun Gong, but also the global movement that has changed the lives of millions of people with the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” said Ganesh Loke, a candidate for the federal election. “Since 1992, when Mr. Li Hongzhi publicly disseminated Falun Dafa, it has transcended national, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.

“In a world often shrouded in pressure, division, hatred, uncertainty, and war, the teachings of Falun Dafa shine with tenacity like an eternal ray of hope.

“I appreciate your courage in fighting injustice in China. It’s really great and commendable. Therefore, I would like to thank every Falun Dafa practitioner for your courage and contribution to the future of humanity, and we look forward to hope, peace, faith, and unity.”

Federal election candidate Courtney Nguyen spoke at the rally.

Courtney Nguyen, a candidate for the federal election, said, “I fully support the Falun Gong group. Today, we come together to celebrate the value of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, human rights, and freedom. “

The President of the Front for a Democratic China, Dr. Qin Jin, and human rights activist Bob Vinnicombe also attended the celebration and spoke at the rally.

Congratulatory Letters from City Councilors Applaud Falun Dafa’s Contribution to the Community

Congratulatory letters from five City Councillors were read at the event: Blacktown City Councilors Allan Green and Jess Diaz; Parramatta City Councilor Sameer Pandey, City Councilor Judy Greenwood, and Cumberland City Councilor Paul Garrard, who appreciated Falun Gong’s contribution to the physical and mental health, moral construction and cultural diversity of the community.

In his congratulatory letter, Sydney’s Blacktown Councillor Allan Green praised Falun Dafa for its positive contribution to the Australian community.

In his congratulatory letter, Paul Garrard, a Cumberland city councilor, extended his sincere congratulations to the Falun Dafa community in Australia and around the world. He wrote, “This event marks an important milestone in the face of your solidarity and in the face of the brutal oppression of the CCP regime.”

In her congratulatory letter, Sydney Parramatta councillor Judy Greenwood wrote,

“Congratulations on your perseverance and compassion in promoting your faith and peacefully telling the Sydney people the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China through these rallies.”

Practitioners also gave performances, singing and dancing to celebrate Falun Dafa Day.
