(Minghui.org) Mayor Justin Towndale of the City of Cornwall issued a proclamation and presided a flag-raising ceremony on the morning of May 13, 2025 to celebrate the 33^rd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction. This is the 12^th year that the City of Cornwall issued proclamation and the fourth year the mayor presided over the flag-raising.

World Falun Dafa Day Is Important

Mayor Justin Towndale said that celebrating World Falun Dafa Day is meaningful. He said that the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are meaningful for Canada. “Many of Falun Dafa’s teachings can be applied in people’s daily lives and can help us improve our physical, mental and spiritual health. I think this is very important,” said Mayor Towndale.

He said, “Falun Dafa has practitioners in more than 100 countries around the world, and Canada is one of them. We certainly hope to celebrate cultural diversity in Cornwall and celebrate Falun Dafa Day.”

May 13 is also the birthday of Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. Mayor Towndale congratulated Master Li on his birthday, and said, “Happy birthday to Master Li. Congratulations, today is the 33rd anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa. I believe this is a very beautiful thing, and I hope there will be more anniversaries in the future.”

Proclamation from Mayor Towndale of the City of Cornwall

The proclamation states, “Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is a spiritual practice rooted in the ancient schools of cultivation in China. It consists of meditative exercise, and a moral philosophy aimed at the promotion of virtue.”

“Since Falun Dafa’s public introduction in 1992, hundreds of millions of people from diverse cultural backgrounds in over 100 countries, including Canada, benefit from practicing Falun Gong.

“2025 is Falun Dafa Day’s 33rd anniversary celebration, Falun Dafa has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving health in mind, body and spirit, as well as enhancing the well-being of people from diverse cultural backgrounds in over 100 countries.”

“NOW THEREFORE I, Justin Towndale, Mayor of the City of Cornwall do hereby proclaim, May 13, 2025 “Falun Dafa Day” in the City of Cornwall.”
