People Express Support During World Falun Dafa Day Celebrations in Seattle

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners celebrated the 26^th World Falun Dafa Day and founder Master Li’s birthday during celebrations at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle on May 4, 2025.

Practitioners began the day’s activities with a group photo, and respectfully sent their best wishes to Master Li. They said in chorus: “Falun Dafa practitioners in Seattle wish Master Happy Birthday! Falun Dafa is great! Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is great!”

As part of Falun Dafa day celebrations, practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises in Westlake Park in central Seattle.

Marysville Issues a Proclamation for World Falun Dafa Day

This year, the city of Marysville, Washington, issued a proclamation for World Falun Dafa Day.

Marysville issued a proclamation for World Falun Dafa day in 2025.

The proclamation, signed by Mayor Jon Nehring, stated:

“Whereas, May 13, 2025 is the 33^rd anniversary of the introduction to the world of Falun Dafa, which is practiced in more than 100 countries with over 100 million practitioners, and

“Whereas, Falun Dafa is a peaceful self-improvement practice rooted in traditional Chinese culture that consists of five gentle exercises including meditation, and moral teachings centered on the values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and

“Whereas, Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public in 1992 by Mr Li Hongzhi, and has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving health in mind, body and spirit, and to enhance the well-being of people from all walks of society who follow its tenets, and

“Whereas, Falun Dafa has helped millions improve their health and moral standards as well as deepen their understanding of life, the universe and virtuous ways of being through the practice of Falun Dafa, and

“Whereas, Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries and contributes to the universal dream of a peaceful, tolerant and more compassionate society, and

“Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners’ determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness, Compassion-Forbearance under the most severe environment reminds us of the value of life and the precious quality of human dignity;

“Now, therefore I, Jon Nehring, Mayor, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2025 as World Falun Dafa day in Marysville.”

The Public Expresses Support

After the rally, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises at Westlake Park. Many passersby stopped to watch and talked to practitioners to find out more about Falun Dafa.

Myrna Salgado from California and her family were visiting Seattle, and talked with practitioners during the event.

She was deeply moved when she learned that many practitioners who demonstrated the exercises during the event had been persecuted in China. They rebuilt their lives in the U.S. and told people about the persecution in China. Ms. Salgado said many things happening in today’s world are hard to believe. Yet, such things [as persecution] continue happening, and hearing about them makes her feel the connection between people and her responsibility [to help them]. Before leaving, she said she would like to help spread the information on social media so that more people become aware of the persecution in China.

Kiki is a popular blogger in Seattle who often does live streaming content to connect with her fans. She stopped in front of the Falun Dafa display for a long time, and read the information. She said she could not understand why the CCP is suppressing the practice, even though Falun Dafa helps people improve their health. She also suggested that practitioners go to US government officials to seek their help. Kiki said she will tell her social media followers what she learned in her next live streaming program.

A couple expressed disbelief after they read about the CCP’s persecution and crimes of organ harvesting. They could not understand why a government would forbid people from practicing cultivation. They were shocked when practitioners told them further details about the organ harvesting. They left their contact information when they were told that a documentary about the CCP’s organ harvesting, State Organs, will be screened in Seattle.

Many tourists signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution after talking with practitioners.
