(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Toronto, Canada, gathered at the city center on May 11, 2025, and held a grand parade to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. The parade included the Tian Guo Marching Band, heavenly maidens, exercise group, waist drum team, etc. It started from Grange Park, passed through Chinatown, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Eaton Center, and other popular attractions. Practitioners carried banners with messages to convey their gratitude to their founder, Master Li Hongzhi, to wish him a happy birthday, and tell people how wonderful Falun Dafa is.
The weather was beautiful that day, with a hint of spring. Residents and tourists from many countries stopped and watched the parade. Some took photos and said they were drawn by the harmonious atmosphere. After they talked to practitioners, others said they planned to look at the Falun Dafa website and find out more.
Many Chinese people also watched the parade. Some said this was the first time they saw a Falun Dafa parade, while others said they knew about the practice. Some talked to Falun Dafa practitioners who clarified the truth to them about the persecution. One practitioner helped more than ten Chinese people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its organizations during the event, helping them to choose a wonderful future for themselves.
Falun Dafa practitioners held a grand parade to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the world, the 26th World Falun Dafa Day and Master Li Hongzhi’s birthday.
Falun Dafa practitioners’ parade passed through Toronto’s Chinatown.
Britney, a local graduate student, said she would look at the Falun Dafa website to find out more after she talked to a practitioner.
Local resident, Britney, is a graduate student. Before the parade began, she said she was attracted by the music played by the Tian Guo Marching Band while the band members tuned their instruments. She said she especially loved the drums.
A practitioner explained the name of the band and what Falun Dafa is. When she learned that Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, she said, “I think these principles are very important. I also try to live by them, so it’s great to see a group of people that abide by these principles. However, I’ve never seen the word ‘Forbearance,’ so to me, it’s a new word. ‘Truthfulness’ and ‘Compassion’ are very good cultivation principles. I also think this is very beneficial to our society.” Britney said that she meditates, and she planned to look at the Falun Dafa website to find out more.
After listening to a practitioner’s explanation about Dafa as well as the persecution in China, Britney said that it’s unbelievable, but she’s happy that the practitioners can have a free cultivation environment in Canada. She thinks that freedom of belief is very important. She said she’ll help practitioners by telling people about the persecution.
Baran (left) praised the Falun Dafa parade.
Baran is a Yoga teacher and said that the Falun Dafa parade gives people a very wonderful feeling. After she learned that Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice that is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, she said, “If we can apply these principles to people and society, we will definitely have a more harmonious and wonderful society. If everyone can try hard to realize these principles and elevate themselves, its impact will benefit the whole society.”
After hearing that this parade was held to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the world, Baran said, “First of all, my best wishes to all of you. This kind of celebration is very good. I hope that it can continue to be held every year. This can also introduce Falun Dafa to people all over the world. This is really great.”
Russel is a student and said this was the first time he saw a Falun Dafa parade, and he felt it was very peaceful. A practitioner explained that the participants were all Falun Dafa practitioners and that Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice that’s based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. He said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are all very correct and very good. So this parade is indeed a good event that encourages people to face themselves honestly and treat others with kindness.” He also said that the principles are very beneficial to our society.
Russel pointed to the parade segment that displayed banners that called for an end to the persecution and asked what it was all about. The practitioner thus explained to him about the persecution by the CCP that Falun Dafa practitioners are currently suffering in China. After listening to the explanation, Russel said, “Everyone has their own choices. Take, for example, people can experience life for themselves or choose to be truthful or compassionate. People should abide by their inner souls to make those choices. The country can govern its people, but it cannot employ forceful enforcement measures on kind people because this is our own choice, right?”
Serena, whose work is related to artificial intelligence modeling, said she was attracted by the grand but peaceful parade. She said the music was great and the costumes were very bright and colorful.
Serena fully agrees with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and said, “Society needs them more than ever. Nowadays, there are many conflicts everywhere. If everyone can abide by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, the world might become positive and better.”
When Serena heard that this peaceful cultivation group is persecuted in China, she said, “Hearing this makes me sad. I do not understand why these people who are doing kind things are being murdered, harmed, imprisoned, or tortured. They are just a group of people who are trying to cultivate their minds and bodies.”
