San Diego, USA: Tourists Voice Support for Falun Gong at the Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren Exhibition

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in San Diego, California, held the Art of Zhen Shan Ren Exhibition at the famous local attraction Balboa Park on May 17, 2025. They also collected signatures on petitions in support of the “Falun Gong Protection Act,” which needs to pass in the United States Senate before it can be signed by the President and enacted into law, and for the Global Coalition to Stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) Live Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners.

Many out-of-state tourists and locals viewed the exhibition, learned about the practice and the persecution, signed in support of the resolution, and condemned the CCP’s atrocities.

Singer: I Want to Resume Practicing Falun Gong

“I saw those movements and they looked a bit like Falun Dafa. When I got closer, I found that it was indeed Falun Dafa,” said singer Rashaun. “I must share this to let everyone know that Falun Dafa has really changed my life.”

Rashaun is a singer who uses a Jamaican singing style. He learned the Falun Dafa exercises by following the teaching videos online after he found the practice in 2014.

“Falun Dafa helped me be more focused, my body had more energy, and I felt energized. This cultivation practice changes you from inside,” Rashaun said. He believed that some external things can change us, but inner cultivation is the real way to eternal life, and Falun Dafa is a practice with countless benefits.

Singer Rashaun wants to resume Falun Dafa practice

Rashaun said that he had learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong in the process of getting to know Falun Dafa more deeply, and it made him feel heartbroken. Due to various reasons, his busy life made him stop practicing. However, when he saw Falun Dafa again that day, he realized that it was a reminder for him to renew his previous relationship.

He said he had already arranged to record a program that day. Before he hurriedly left the exhibition, he said to the practitioner, “I am very excited. We will meet again soon. See you soon.”

Tourist Helped Collect Signatures and Called on People to Write to their Legislators to Support the “Falun Gong Protection Act”

LouAnn Rounseville, a tourist from New Jersey, said this was the first time she had heard of Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution.

“You know, as that very famous Edmund Burke said, all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,” Ms. Rounseville said. “I agree with that. So when I learned that this was a genocide and that it had been going on in China for 26 years, I had to do something.”

Ms. Rounseville signed the petition and held up the petition board so passersby could sign as well.

She quickly learned relevant information from the practitioners and passed it on to passersby, “How can you help stop this genocide? Contact your federal senators and let them know you want them to vote in favor of S817 to help stop the genocide and forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners in China.”

Tourists Sign Petition in Support of Falun Gong

Tourist Ben Kern from Maine signed a petition and said, “If I can do something, if my signature can have even a small effect in stopping the persecution, then I think it’s worth doing.”

Joe Duan, a Chinese-American from Utah, said he had no prior knowledge of Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. He signed the petition and said the painting I Want My Dad moved him greatly. “I feel very sad. When I look at the painting, there are only the girl and her mother. Obviously, their family is broken and their father has passed away. So looking at the painting makes me feel very sad. From the girl’s perspective, I can see what she has experienced. This is a very touching painting,” Mr. Duan said.

Visitor Cynthia Alejandro signed the petition and commented, “I know that organ harvesting needs to be stopped. It is inhumane.” She also said that the exhibition made her understand more about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
