Additional Persecution News from China – May 15, 2025 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several other practitioners in Bei’an City were arrested in Fudi Residential Community on the morning of May 13, 2025. Those known to have been arrested include: Ms. Li Shuangfeng, her sister-in-law (name unknown), Mr. Jiao Xichen, Ms. Li Dianrong, Sun Jilan, Dou Xuehua, Wang Mengxin, Wang’s mother (name unknown), and Shanshan (nick name). Shanshan has been released.

2. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Xi Officially Arrested

Ms. Cai Xi was arrested at home on March 18, 2025. She has been held in Foshan City Detention Center since. Her arrest has been approved.

3. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners from Sanshijiazi Town, Lingyuan City, including Ms. Liang Jinling, Ms. Song Shuzhi, Ms. Zhang Hongmei, Cheng, Ms. Wang Xiuyu, and Ms. Wang Liying were arrested at Cheng’s home around 2 p.m. on May 9, 2025, while studying Falun Gong teaching together. More than ten fully armed police officers came in four or five police cars. They arrested the six practitioners and took them to the Sanshijiazi Police Station. All six practitioners’ homes were ransacked and numerous copies of Falun Gong books and Minghui Weekly were confiscated.

Ms. Liang and Ms. Song were each fined 1,500 yuan and taken to Chaoyang City for detention. Ms. Wang Liying was also detained. Ms. Zhang Hongmei and Cheng were each fined 1,000 yuan and then released. The officers ordered Ms. Wang Xiuyu to pay 1,000 yuan, and she refused. She was later released.

4. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Lyu Enzhong and Ms. Xu Yuzhen Arrested

Practitioner Lyu Enzhong was arrested on May 11, 2025. Lyu’s home was ransacked.

Ms. Xu Yuzhen was arrested on May 12, and her home was also ransacked.

5. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pang Guihua and Her Husband Mr. Pang Zengde Arrested

Five officers from the Tuanjie Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Pang Guihua and her husband, Mr. Pang Zengde, around 4 p.m. on May 13, 2025. They ransacked the place and arrested the couple. They also confiscated 80 Falun Gong books, 10 photos of the founder of Falun Gong, two Falun posters, a laptop computer, more than 100 copies of Minghui Weekly and printouts, two video players, 10 cell phones, and an MP3 player, among other personal belongings.

The couple was taken to the police station for interrogation. Mr. Pang failed the physical examination and was released on bail at around 12 a.m. that night. Ms. Pang was detained for 10 days.

6. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Pengcheng Appeals His Eight-Year Prison Term

Mr. Qu Pengcheng, 59, and Fu Chongchun were arrested on May 18, 2024, by officers from the Gongchangling District Domestic Security Division in Liaoyang City, and Tiedong District Police Department, and the Heping Police Station in Anshan City. The Dengta City Procuratorate approved their arrests on June 20, 2024, and later indicted them.

Mr. Qu was tried by the Dengta City Court on December 3 and sentenced to eight years in prison. He has appealed to the Liaoyang City Intermediate Court. Fu’s case status isn’t clear.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Yan Ling’s Bag Searched by Police

Ms. Yan Ling took the high-speed train from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, to Beijing on April 17, 2025. Police officers demanded that she present her ID card, have a picture taken, and open her bag for examination, which wasn’t required for other passengers. Ms. Yan suspected that the police were searching for Falun Gong-related materials.

In another earlier incident in early October 2022, Ms. Yan was also stopped at the ticket checkpoint at the Shenyang North Train Station when she was returning to Beijing. Several officers searched her luggage and took her to the Zhanqian Police Station for a body search. They confiscated her Walkman, handwritten copy of Zhuan Falun, an audio player, and memory cards. An officer who claimed to be with the Domestic Security Division said to her, “We know immediately when you arrive in Shenyang.”

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lei Caiqing’s Home Ransacked

Mr. Lei Caiqing had just returned home from grocery shopping on the morning of April 22, 2025, when three unidentified officers forced their way in. They forcibly took away the amulets and Falun posters hanging on the front and interior doors. They then opened the cabinet and took away seven copies of Zhuan Falun, as well as a cell phone he used for playing the exercise music. They deleted all Falun Gong-related content from his cell phone, including the Falun Gong exercise music.

9. [Weining County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xu Yanfei Arrested

Ms. Xu Yanfei was arrested by the police in Weining County, Bijie City, on April 9, 2025. She is being held in the Weining County Detention Center.

10. [Shanghai] Ms. Xu Nixia Arrested

Ms. Xu Nixia from Baoshan District was arrested on the afternoon of May 13, 2025, by officers from the Baoshan District Domestic Security Division. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in Baoshan District Detention Center.
