(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held activities at a park in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 12, 2025, to call on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to end the 26-year-long persecution. During the rally, they exposed the regime’s crimes of genocide and organ harvesting and appealed for an end to transnational repression that is currently taking place.
It was a bright, sunny day, and the park was filled with people. Practitioners set up display boards detailing the tactics used by the CCP to vilify Falun Gong and told people about the Chinese regime’s escalating transnational repression. Many passersby stopped to read them and talked with practitioners to find out more information. They signed the petition to urge the U.S. Senate to pass the Falun Gong Protection Act.

Incorrect Media Reports of the CCP’s Transnational Repression
Mark Apollo, a freelance journalist, has his own channel on various social media platforms and frequently writes for various major media companies. When he heard the CCP used media to publish distorted reports targeting Falun Gong and Shen Yun, he was astounded and said, “This is a repression of ordinary citizens by state apparatus.”
Freelance journalist Mark Apollo said The New York Times reports slander Shen Yun.
As a journalist with many years of experience, Mark Apollo thought The New York Times’ slanderous reports on Falun Gong and Shen Yun were against media norms and balanced writing practices in news reporting.
He said, “If I write these reports, I would interview former dancers and people currently working in Shen Yun because you should interview both parties and not present views of one side only. The reports on the NYT are more like defamation, and they damage the reputation of Shen Yun.”
To those who read and believed the distorted reports by certain media and consequently had misunderstandings towards Falun Gong and Shen Yun, Mark suggested: “People should not be in a hurry to judge before seeing all the facts.” He thought if news reports only interviewed one party in a story, then one should doubt the credibility of the report.
He also said, “The reporter should not only interview those who left [Shen Yun]. Current staff still employed in Shen Yun must be interviewed as well, at least 10 per cent. If Shen Yun has 1000 employees at the moment, then 100 people should be interviewed.”
Say No to the CCP’s Transnational Repression
After Riley read the various low-handed tactics used by the regime in transnational repression, he said, “To be honest, this makes me feel angry, it is absolutely wrong. This is unjust; the CCP cannot do such things in another country.”
He also sympathized with Falun Gong practitioners, “It is wonderful that they can come to America and have freedom. They should not be persecuted further.”
Riley (right) and his mother, Robyn (left), said no to the CCP’s transnational repression.
Riley’s mother Robyn, is a devout Christian and said she understands practitioners’ persistence because “Faith is important.” She noticed practitioners doing the exercises from a distance and said she was drawn to come over, “Because it is a powerful, calm, and compassionate energy field.”
She was deeply touched by the persecution Falun Gong practitioners went through. With tears in her eyes and her voice choked up, she said, “I wish you all well, whether it is for yourself or family members opposing the persecution, just like one hopes one’s child is well. I will pray for all of you, pray that you will get a good result.”
Voices of Support
Adel Mansilla, a Falun Gong practitioner, said, “We should actively and publicly tell the truth in the face of this public slander and escalated transnational repression because this is our country. Our children grow up in this place, so all the more we need kindness and the truth.”
