(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Hao Shuping, 71, from Fengrun District, was arrested on the morning of July 8, 2025, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Fanzhuang Village Farmers Market in Hongqiao Town, Yutian County. She was taken to the Tangshan City First Detention Center.
Prior to her latest persecution, Ms. Hao was arrested in September 2001 and held in the Tangshan City First Detention Center. As she refused to “transform,” the guards restrained her on a metal chair, forced her to stand for 24 hours without sleep, and do hard labor without pay. She developed a chronic cough and vomited blood. Ms. Hao was later found to have lung cancer and was then released. She resumed practicing Falun Gong upon returning home and recovered shortly after.
Ms. Wang Xiufen was arrested on July 8, 2025 by Yuantai Police Station officers and is being held in the Jinjia Street Lockup.
Ms. Cui Yulian was arrested on July 9, 2025.
Mr. Fan Xuebin was arrested on June 13, 2025 and held in the Yingkou City Detention Center. On or after June 13, he was put in a chokehold and almost died. He developed severe physical symptoms on June 26, 2025, and was released shortly after.
Ms. Zhang Liyun, 68, was arrested at home by officers from the Meijiang District Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 3, 2025. More than a dozen officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, some Falun Gong books, and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. She was released that afternoon.
Mr. Zhong Dongsheng, Ms. Tang Sulan, and Ms. Cao Xueqin were arrested by officers from the Linshui County Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 8, 2024. Mr. Zhong and Ms. Tang were released that evening. Ms. Cao’s home was ransacked, and she was released the next morning.
