(Minghui.org) An 80-year-old man in Dehui City, Jilin Province, has been admitted to the Changchun Tiebei Prison to serve a four-year term for practicing Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.
Mr. Li Decheng was arrested during a police sweep on February 25, 2023. At least 12 other Falun Gong practitioners were also seized that day. The police confiscated from Mr. Li’s home more than 90 Falun Gong books, a desktop computer, two laptops, two printers, two paper cutters, three cell phones, two music players, copy paper, flash drives, and other personal belongings. They also took the 100 yuan in cash in his wife Ms. Ma Shuhua’s purse.
The couple were taken to the Dajiagou Police Station and then moved to the Xiajiadian Police Station. Due to their poor health, Ms. Ma was released the next morning and Mr. Li was released on bail days later.
Minghui.org recently confirmed Mr. Li’s wrongful conviction and prison transfer. It is unclear when he was sentenced or admitted to prison.
Seven other practitioners arrested during the same police sweep were known to have been sentenced. Mr. Zheng Yuming and Ms. Su Cuizhi each received seven years. Ms. Wang Yufen, Mr. Guo Encai, and Ms. Liu Zhongrong, a physician, were each given two years. Ms. Xie Yunxiang and Ms. Wang Guiying were sentenced to 5 years and 10 months, respectively.
Ms. Su, Ms. Xie, Ms. Wang Yufen, and Ms. Liu are currently serving time at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison. Mr. Zheng is jailed at the Jilin Prison and Mr. Guo is detained at the Gongzhuling Prison.
